it is not. that certain of us (and i will include myself, at least some of the time) take pleasure in seeing our ideological opponents trashed is a reprehensible trait... but a pretty human one. To see Arnie taken apart.. well, i do not feel bad about that - he deserves all the ridicule we have to give - not for indfidelity. who cares, that is between him and his wife, but for publically humiliating the good woman who sacrificed a lot to support him. So did Clinton, and believe me, i gave plenty of it.
Gingrigch got plenty and i gave a good deal of it... not for infuidelity, but for hypocrisy.
There are surely times when i prayed (in a manner fo speaking) that Bush would fail.. because i opposed the policy he was trying to prusue. OF COURSE i wanted him to fail.
the two would have different aswers. if I "disagree" enough... you can expect a response with a corresponding degree of intensity. put ElCid in contention for the WH... and you will hear a LOT of venom, at least i would hope so.
personal dislike? well... we, here have, 'relationships' based, almost exclusively, on what we think and say and how we say it (well, i gotta admit a fondness for Betty based almiost soley on that great rack, but that is an exception). how can we expect that our 'feelings' for one another can be separated from what we express and how we express it?
i post on matters that mean something to me almost exclusively. it is a good bet that i am going to bring a degree of passion... some of these matters are important, even if WE who are discussing them are not. I am assertive (at least) and even aggressive on matters that mean a LOT. i can be brutal.. in response to personal attacks. i will let a few go by but come down hard when i do respond in kind. that it just how it works in the real world.
no higher than the standard i expect of myself.

Very thorough, honest response. Thank you!
