Good for DeSantis. I hope a lot of other states join in. I'm glad to see states feeling the need to do what the federal government won't. The border is a mess.

I give him credit. An impressive political stunt.

This should help him in his impending 2024 run with Trump supporters.

I think he will be the repub to beat in 2024.

I predict Trump will claim that he can do more good in the private sector in 2023 and will throw his endorsement to Desantis.

Unfortunately this won't solve the problem at the border but that is politics.

I certainly agree DeSantis could very likely be the Republican of note in the 2024 campaign.

DeSantis can have North Florida. None of us in South Florida want anything to do with him or them.
Those who don't want anything to do with him can vote for someone else, but I don't think a DeSantis opponent (from either party) will win in Florida anytime soon - and I think he will be a challenge for any Dem, should he be the 2024 nominee. I think he'd be a very strong candidate.

You act like the educated don't understand the hillfolk.

But, back to the OP, I'd love to see a flood of states step in to send resources to assist Texas and AZ at the border. When the federal government creates and ignores such a detrimental situation, it's good the states have rights and responsibilities! The states or the courts - and we might need both in this border crisis.

They don't want to solve the border. They want to milk it.

In terms of an actual solution, yep, it's pretty much that. Gov. DeSantis is at least consistent in that he's also implemented a new e-verify law that kick into gear in January of this year. The kicker is there's an option to not use e-verify with the loophole being you are required to keep I-9 forms for 3 years.

South Florida. LMAO

All the money to feed and educate the northern cousin ****ing. That's us. North Florida can feel free to go. Spare us the bills and inbred dna. North Florida doesn't pay for itself. It's a backwoods two-teef eleven-toed welfare case.

So, it's toothless. No surprise there.

If the GOP & Trumpco wanted to do anything about the US Mexico border,
they'd've prioritized that when they had both houses of Congress and the Presidency.

They acted on their priorities during those years.
They passed tax cuts for the donor classes.
Those were their priorities.

It's in line with the skirting around the issue that's plagued immigration policy. It's easy to talk tough about immigrants, but few like to address the actual demand and lay the blame there.
