i didn't think he was running -he has small children. But this is a good way to intro to national audience.
im now leaning towards he running
The publishers highlight that the autobiography will cover key moments in DeSantis’ life, from "growing up in a working-class family, playing in the Little League World Series, working his way through Yale University and Harvard Law School, volunteering for the Navy after 9/11 and serving in Iraq."

The publishers note that the book "will center on critical issues that brought [DeSantis] to the center of the debate over the future of our country.
He shares his thinking from when he was fighting back against COVID mandates and restrictions, critical race theory, woke corporations" and what they describe as "the partisan legacy media." They add that the memoir will chronicle what they call "his bold, substantial policy achievements."

DeSantis, in a statement, said that "what Florida has done is establish a blueprint for governance that has produced tangible results while serving as a rebuke to the entrenched elites who have driven our nation into the ground. Florida is proof positive that we, the people, are not powerless in the face of these elites."

Yeah, a Harvard grad calling others' "elitists". Comedy writers couldn't make this stuff up :)

"Typically, potential presidential candidates issue autobiographies a year or two before elections as a stage setter for campaigns, and the DeSantis book sounds like a fit. Most include a personal review of their life and accomplishments and how it would guide them should they win higher office."

There is no doubt in my mind he is running especially as he sees support for Trump unwinding. In my view DeSantis is very likely to beat Trump in the primaries. The interesting thing will be Trump's reaction.

It will be interesting to see DeSantis and likeminded Republicans go up against Trump and all his White Christian Fundamentalist Nationalists.

DeSantis and likeminded Republicans don't want to be a sane alternative to Trump.

They want to be the NEW Trump.

I'll pass.

florida is a success story. Peole move here to get away from the heavy taxation and regs and mandates of the centralized elites
He's got momentum, a track record, and is much more political savvy then Trump

The only reason would be his young kids, putting oneself thru the rigors of a campaign

Yeah, they have a child system that encourages and is vulnerable to sex trafficking. Good job!

People move here like I did to get away from cold weather. Politics is the furthest thing from my mind where I choose to live.

What is this "elite" thing you guys keep throwing around. Is that another buzzrwod or phrase like "war against wokeness".

And Yale. Plus he's worth $29 million. Just a regular guy.
In all fairness, even though it pains me to say so......DeSantis cones from a middle-class family and worked his way through University plus I believe he had some scholarships. He is a real loner, not at all social and those who know him say he has a real chip on his shoulder about growing up as he did. He hates elitists because he wants to be one!

I wonder who wrote it

Ya gotta love it!

First Trump promised to go after the elites. Didn't do it.

Now DeSantis promises the same, and the braindead Righties will eat it up, and should he win, he won't do it either.

DeSantis literally modeled himself after Trump.

Why does it pain you to say it? Sounds like the American success story that a lot of immigrants come here to experience. I’m happy to hear about anyone who comes from humble beginnings and is able to significantly improve their lives.

.......because I can't stand the man so coming to his defence hurts.

Kinda destroys his narrative of the evil elites though.

Books are a good method for laundering money in politics.
