I occasionally comment at the NYTimes. They published an essay Fauci wrote: "A Message to the Next Generation of Scientists." I made the following comment:

The right-wing's demonization of Dr. Fauci is one of the most egregious responses to Covid-19 imaginable. There really is evil behind their disinformation.

This comment got over 3,000 up votes. (Most I've ever gotten by far.)

Not much different, with the exception being that a shot is more invasive and less safe, than any of the items you listed.

I can almost guarantee that if any of those items you listed caused specific harm to you, and you could prove said harm, then a workaround would have been created for you.

You know, there are real public health challenges, like balancing releasing a vaccine that will likely save many lives but isn't yet fully tested to be safe, and the insanity of our public discussion and misinformation shows how unable much of the public is to begin to be able to address them.

Is it more than is expected? No. Nothing is without risk... but there is zero evidence that shows that the risk from the vaccine outweighs the risk from the virus.

Those who are vaccinated when exposed to the virus become infected at a lower rate than those who are not vaccinated. If the vaccinated do get infected they tend to have better health outcomes and clear the virus at a faster rate than the unvaccinated thus spending a shorter amount time shedding virus to infect others.

Nothing is 100%, but that does not mean that one has an absolute right to place themselves in the worst possible position to be a disease vector that would infect and potentially kill others.

The measles vaccine alone was developed from 1954 to full rollout in 1968. It was later combined with other approved vaccines to create the MMR vaccine...a development which involved rigorous testing. The Polio vaccine had been in development and testing for many decades until it was finally isolated in 1949. From 1950 to 1955 over 1.6 million people were used as test subjects before the vaccine was approved.

A typical vaccine development period ranges anywhere from 5-10 years and requires 3 stages of clinical trials. None of that was done in the development of the COVID vaccine. The head of Pfizer admitted what everyone already knew...COVID vaccines did not go through ANY clinical trials. At the time of the release of the vaccine there were so many lies spread about the vaccines...mostly because people had no idea what they were promoting. They had no idea if it would stop people from spreading the virus (it wont)...but that didnt stop proponents from spreading lies about the vaccine. They had no idea how long the vaccines might be effective for (still dont). They say it will protect people if they do catch COVID...yet more vaccinated people are dying of COVID today than unvaccinated people.

At the same time...healthy people are dropping dead across the planet..people with no previous known health conditions. In parts of Canada...'unknown' is now the leading cause of death. Some of the foremost experts on the mRNA platform that COVID was built on say there are risks...potentially fatal risks ..of using the vaccine.

All for a virus that is 99.6% survivable and primarily (then and now) impacts senior citizens and people that are already dealing with on average 4 comorbisd and potentially fatal illnesses before COVID ever even comes into the picture.
