A pair of House Democrats on Thursday called on acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to revoke Jared Kushner's security clearance.

The letter to Mulvaney from Democratic Reps. Don Beyer (Va.) and Ted Lieu (Calif.) came after NBC News reported last week that two career White House security specialists rejected Kushner's application for a top-secret security clearance after an FBI background check raised concerns about potential foreign influence. Their supervisor overruled them and approved the clearance anyway, according to NBC.

Kushner was rejected to Top Secret & SCI clearance but was green lighted by a Trump stooge in the WH. With all his foreign entanglements, including with Russia, I think the Dems are making the correct call here.

That horse is out of the barn.

He shouldn't have been given clearance but the damage is done. I don't think he could do worse than he has done. Hence, taking his clearance away now would just be punitive.

I don't mind the symbolic gesture ... but as far as worrying about him doing any more damage to national security? Trump is a way bigger threat than Kushner.

Yeah, being a crucial negotiator in the new Mexican/Canadian trade deal, negotiating in the Israeli/ terrorist deal....etc. have been "horrible".

More "DOWN is UP" nonsense from the left. Kushner has been TREMENDOUS.

Being he couldn't pass the criteria without dad's intervention then yes, they have a point.

Yes, of course. You don't think he would still have Trump's ear if his security clearance was revoked?

Taking away Kushner's clearance would slow Trump down slightly, putting him on notice that his administration is officially recognized as committing national security violations. But it wouldn't slow Trump down much. Nor, probably, would it stop Kushner from being apprised of sensitive information.

It might make the Saudi Crown Prince decide he has no more use for Kushner, but MBS has probably already gotten all he planned out of Kushner.

Gotta' disagree with you here.

It's never O.K. to allow a security risk. When found, whenever that may be, it's time to act upon it. We're talking national security here ...

You can bet that Trump doesn't involve himself with the CIA's PDB but Kushner does. He knows that knowledge is power.

That, I wouldn't doubt. Good point.
