Waiting to see what comes up next. They do this, and 2010 will be 1994 all over again.
Providing the currency doesnt collapse by then.
DRUDGE REPORT 2009®
According to the Drudge Headline, the Dem's are gonna use their majority and push some sort of healthcare through, without Bi-Partisan input.

If they fail, it will be 1994 again. It you remember, 1994 happened after the Democrats failed, not after they passed something.
So long as they pass a bill with co-ops or just anything other than something with an expressly defined public option in it, everyone other than the right wingers will have forgotten about this by the elections in 2010. The 2010 elections will be more about the economy than anything else.
Really? You think 1994 was a GOP Success.. because the Dem's FAILED to pass "Hillarycare"? REALLY?
It was a GOP success because the Democrats failed at their healthcare reform attempts and because there were a large number of scandals affecting congressional Democrats at the time.
Your chances of taking back congress next year are next to nothing and even worse than that if you don't allow moderates into the party. You guys are in this echo chamber and you don't realize how far outside the mainstream you are.
The GOP will probably pick up between 10 and 20 seats next year in the House.

And by the way, Republicans took over in 1994 because Democrats tried to pass universal healthcare, not because they could not pass it.

We will get the public option, thank GOD!
Gallup Daily: Obama Job Approval
As you can see, the country has sooo much faith in the President.
The public option will be the death knell of the Dem's short lived control over the House, the Senate and the WH.
thanks for the update
this can be seen, more than anything, as a white house that has spun its dizzy head silly
that is, just a few hours ago, they were signalling the opposite
yesterday, mr boyd of florida said he'd never vote for the thing, and more than that, house leadership was considering scrapping all and starting over again
boyd's a bluedog, and last week it was the freshmen, perriello and kratovil, who assured angry town halls they would never support waxman/rangel
point one---boyd, perriello and kratovil are much more level headed in their comments than this zany white house
ms sebelius said what she said sunday, then took it back
gibbs said they haven't changed a word but the signs have been there all along
point two---this white house is making it up as it goes along and changes like a moody teenager every five minutes
don't worry about this at all, see it more as sheer desperate talk from leadership
they have NO IDEA what they're gonna do after recess
and never forget the landscape which, unlike obama's moods, aint gonna change
he does not have the votes to get a public option thru senate
not even close
so he's threatening to go the schumer route?
reconciliation, and 51 votes?
that's suicide, patently
i sincerely do not believe he has 51
and if he tries to radically rewrite 16% of the economy on such a crassly political loophole---he won't have 51
this is silly season at its least serious
it's an important story you break, thanks
but it does not mean the white house is gonna go schumer
NO WAY will the white house go reconciliation
they'd have to reup whatever provisions every single year
reconciliation has no muscle
and it, most specifically, has no LEGITIMACY
all see it for what it is, partisanship at its worst
if he even TRIED, he'd be deader than he is now
really, this headline from grey lady nyt makes me LOLOLOLOL!!!
hilariously, LOLOLOLOL!
100 times more lily livered than jimmy carter, mr vacillation himself
this white house does not have a CLUE what it's doing
the grownups are rolling their eyes
baucus, conrad, bayh...
even john kerry and difi---they too have been mentioned by howard dean's groups as senators who may need to be targeted by attack ads
trust me, this aint going nowhere
the mere floating of it is absurd, desperation, weakness, silliness
it would pass the house, that's true
but it's not even close in the senate, it won't even be tried
it's half bluff and half kiss up to the lefties who are so hurt
and it specifically undermines what mr baucus is trying to accomplish with his ubiquitous six
i'd be shocked at the amateurishness if i hadn't seen so much already
this actually sets back his ambitions severely, it undercuts what the negotiators are trying to get done in the gateway, senate finance
thanks for the scoop, good job

We know that's what you are desperately praying for....because the converse would be pure hell for you. If the economy improves...which is looks like is happening...and healthcare reform turns out to be successful, it will be complete disaster for the GOP and conservatives in general.

You are presupposing a rational general public. Such a public does not exist.
I must, disagree wholeheartedly.
I'd be all for plans that helped America, made it stronger...
The economy is not improving, one blip does not an improvement make, and "healthcare reform" as the Dem's want it is NOT going to be good for us, at all.
So, that's where you are wrong. Government cannot fix these problems by taking an active role in them. Just... cannot do it.
I have very little faith in the general public. But I do know that they respond to certain things, mainly the economy and national security. If the economy improves, the GOP is in deep trouble.
I must wholeheartedly disagree. Deregulation and letting business police itself, policies big in the GOP/conservative world are what has gotten us into this mess in the first place.
Medicare actually operates quite well. You take the "for profit" corporations and CEO's out of healthcare, put some real restrictions on frivilous lawsuits and everyone benefits.
