Democrats are injecting race into the 2014 midterm elections amid fears that a drop-off in minority voters could severely cost them at the polls this fall.

Democratic leaders in Congress and administration officials have suggested GOP opposition to policies ranging from immigration reform to ObamaCare are, at least partly, motivated by race.

More broadly, they’ve suggested conservative Tea Party criticism of President Obama is based on the fact that he is black.

More disgusting, divisive, cheap, low rent crap which Dems will eat up like a fat man at a buffet...

Every single GOPer throughout the entirety of history could be card carrying members of the Klan and it won't change the fact that the Democrats in general and Obama in particular are abject failures in every sense.

Christonacracker, will they ever stop pulling the race card??

Congratulations, Obama. You've done a fine job of making us this post-racial nation that you promised.

The smell of desperation from the Democrats makes my cats' litterboxes smell good.

My standard response when faced with these ludicrous accusations is "Let's say that I am...It still doesn't change the fact that Obama is a failure and the Dems are dumb as doo doo"

Perhaps it is this divide and conquer strategy that leads to neither party being able to govern. The old, “A house divided cannot stand,” cliché. It does seem to me that politicians of both parties use this tactic, they divide us into groups based on race, religion, income, education, they segregate us in search of votes. Then when the campaign starts, each party tries to make the voter hate the other party and their candidates more than they hate them.

The campaigns are not based on visions, solutions, ideas, they are based on digging up mud, lies and half-truths, taking things out of context, turning groups and people against other groups and people, all in the search for votes. Then when elected, they wonder why they can’t govern or get the other parties cooperation. The dislike of both parties is very strong and the party strength of both major parties is shrinking and shrinking fast. These campaigns of hate, divide and conquer is taking a toll on them. But both major parties are oblivious to it.

In 1950 80% of the electorate identified or affiliated themselves with the two major parties, come 1990 that number was down to 70%. Come 2010 both parties strength among the electorate had dropped to 60% and today according to Gallup, the Democratic Party is at 28%, the Republican Party at 24% of the electorate with 46% saying they are independents and the rest third party.

According to a recent CBS poll only 33% viewed the Republican Party favorably while 61% viewed then unfavorably. The Democrats were a bit better, 40% favorable, 55% unfavorable. Over 60% of independents dislike both parties.

Do you expect anything less? That is their go to argument when they lose is to call people racists.

heck they were doing that before the 2008 election.
ol you don't want to vote for obama. you must be racists and hate black people.

i would have voted for herman cain if they hadn't lied about him during the midterm.
they couldn't play the race card so they make up a scandel about him to get him to quit.

Thanks for the chuckle.
Let's be completely honest here. If it were not for creating victims, there would be no Democratic party. By using the race card they provide a large portion of their base an excuse for their poor choices and void them of personal responsibility. They play the gender card in the very same manner. They make women into victims because they happen to be the gender that gets pregnant. And because of that awful thing, she needs free birth control to counter it. She is just too weak of a species to be expected to take personal responsibility for her own choices in life. Even when she can't follow the directions on how to use the birth control or just doesn't bother they have seen fit to include aborting pills provided at the cost to others, to insure she doesn't need to accept personal responsibility for her choices. I'd say they have pretty much run out of victims and that is why they need illegal immigrants to grow their party. They need a new underclass to create victimhood.

And yet, candidates like McDaniel are contesting election results because Cochran reached across the aisle and got colored people to vote for him.

Sorry, many Republicans have painted the party thusly with their comments and their new voting rules that disproportionally effect the impoverished who are disproportionally non-white.

When you claim victimhood for your circumstances, you often do so at a price. You live in poverty.

Umm no that is not the whole story and in fact a huge distortion of the story. he is contesting the results because they have found people that voted 2 times in different primaries which is not allowed.

That's politics. For a politician, the truth is whatever best leads to reelection.

Two things. One, Cochran didn't reach across the aisle, those on the other side crossed over with subversive intent. Two, "colored" people? :lamo Really? and WE'RE the racists?

and thirdly, if I may add, expecting people to have valid identification, which is necessary for everything in today's society isn't racist, it's responsible. Especially in today's climate where millions are here illegally and the Dems have shown themselves to be less than scrupulous.

I beat all these libs to the punch, I voted for Alan Keyes in the 2000 GOP primary and again for him against Obama for the Senate in 04. I THEN fell out of my tree and voted FOR Obama in 08!!! (a vote against McCain more than anything but he talked a good enough game to keep me from going 3rd party, which I've been ever since)

It has been this way since before the slaves and indentured servants... 1 black 1 white both in bondage, whitey look like massa, so whitey get more food, better clothing, better living conditions, make him feel he superior, build resentment in the slave and keep the both of them from taking over massa's plantation.

Don't forget the "give'em what they want to hear, get elected and do whatever the hell you want" strategy they employ as well...

I think it has become more based on a cult of personality type phenomenon now...but you have your dyed-in-the-wools out there too...

I know I have and I've been thus far...

Yeah, exactly. Oh yes the dye in wool are still there and will always be there. I do not think it is the dye in the wools that are leaving the two major parties, it if those who had faith in them and lost it. The people who go about their daily lives not paying much attention to Washington but have their reason of being a Republican or Democrat. But as time goes by they get more and more disappointed in them, more disappointed, let down, they find out that their belief and faith has been placed into the wrong party. Their hopes has been dashed and thus they become independents. They probably look around searching for something else, some other party to put their faith in, but there is none. So it becomes a matter of voting for the lesser of two evils.

Your example of the indentured servant and slave fits. Keep everyone divided and hating each other and those in power are safe.

i dont think voter turnout for minorities is going to hurt them this election, but they are probably scared that more minorities are registering and identifying as independant rather than democrat.the black vote for example,is usually around 80 or so percent for democrats, not bad right???except its a large drop from the 80s.

it shows that even though in the second graph they voted overwhelmingly for obama, overall party affilliation has increase for other parties and declined for democrats.

The concern here is what are each State's primary voting laws, are they open? Does registering as an independent allow you pick and choose at the ballot box?

Allowing for more subversive behavior?

Here in Chicago you walk into the polling place, they ask you your name and which party with a Dem party ballot in hand, you tell them Republican and they howl "FINALLY, Frank you get to do some work now!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" You give a dignified nod of futility and off to the box you go.

Don't know how it is elsewhere.

But if there is a trick Obama has shown them how to do it.

Things must be getting pretty bad for the Democrats.

For them to play the race card shows their desperately out of ideas.

I thought it would take another year or two.

When you claim victimhood for your circumstances, you often do so at a price. You live in poverty.

Do you really rule out the possibility that there are, in fact, people who are victimized in our society and really do need help to deal with it?

I had never though of it that way, but you may be right! So we'll have two underclasses competing for freebie supremacy. That should prove interesting....

Greetings, Vesper. :2wave:

What on earth is the difference? And when did Obama promise a "post-racial" society?

Post-racial means race is no longer relevant in society. That is not the same thing as racism, which is the opposite of racial irrelevance.
