Democrats failed to understand white, working-class, fly-over America.

I hope the left doesn't change a thing.

Don't worry, they won't. Neither will the right. When the right was losing every election, they just doubled down on the stupidity that caused them to lose. Neither side cares about winning or representing the American people, they only care about ideological purity.

Right. Trump supporters are all stupid white racists  We know you lefties all think that. What is funny is that you post a link to someone saying this and act as if it is groundbreaking stuff. Its not. You democrats keep right on viewing the American people that way, though. It will keep you from discovering why you don't have the White House, the Senate or the House, or why republicans control the majority of state governorships and legislatures and you guys do not.

Typical. Just another rightie who seems to be incapable of understanding that humans act in a broad spectrum of manner. Not ALL Trump supporters are stupid white racists but SOME of them are most definitely. Not ALL lefties think that way about Trump supporters but SOME definitely do.

THE problem I see in America today is an ever growing unwillingness by more and more, to actually listen to those who don't think the same or accept the same premises regarding democracy and economics. Alternative facts are seen by too many as the only acceptable 'facts'.

Democrats haven't gotten the white vote for a while. Also, that article in the OP was hackish nonsense. The longer liberals believe everything they believe is in everyone's interest the longer they will lose the white vote. Understand that your ideology is not universally accepted and shut the **** up about your inherent correctness.

Nice. A socialist of all people wants to lecture people on not accepting other peoples opinions. You guys don't exactly have a great track record on that kind of stuff, you know.

When the liberal/socialist progressive candidate for President calls 10's of millions of everyday Americans irredeemably deplorable, it's a bit much to think they will listen much after that, or do more than show the middle finger to the people agreeing with the sentiment.

You reap what you sow, and telling people they are uninformed and stupid racists will never be a winning strategy.

In fact, all it will do is inspire like kind treatment in return.

I was assuming the number of Neo-Nazis supporting Trump was lower than tens of millions. Pretty alarming if true.

Normal nonsense unsupported by actual - not alternative - facts

Indeed. A good point.

When should a representative of the electorate seeking election to office declare a large segment of that very electorate as 'deplorable' ?
When they don't want to be elected to office.

Hardly. Democrats haven't gotten the white male vote for a pretty good amount of time now and they lost the white woman vote some time after that. To act like they just all of sudden lost the white vote shows an ignorance of voting patterns on your part. The funny thing is you guys spend a lot of time fighting for the woman vote, but by the percentages you have actually lost their vote over time. What you guys should be thinking about is the black male vote. Did you guys notice that more and more of them are leaving?

I wouldn't be opposed to a tax cut on working class Americans, but I wouldn't support it if it was really just a huge cut for millionaires and billionaires with a few bucks tossed to those making under 100,000. What working class people are politicians regulating to death?

I do believe that the underlying market principals of supply and demand, government interference of the market, and its eventual end result, is sound.

Does that mean an abandonment of any regulations of the market, such as you've highlighted? No, it does not. But the less regulation, the better, and government's distortion of the market only distort that market and increase costs.

The problem with the right is they allowed RINOs to infiltrate their ranks. One reason why I abandoned the GOP and refused to give them monetary support.

Well, I guess you qualify for the vile infection segment of the liberal/socialist progressive party.

Carry on.

Sad that so many seem to prefer their memories to reality

Clinton's words which have been twisted out of context by her opponent and others
You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic -- you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people -- now 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks -- they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America."

"But the other basket -- and I know this because I see friends from all over America here -- I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas -- as well as, you know, New York and California -- but that other basket of people are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they're just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different.

Those voters who went for Trump in the hope that he could/would improve their lives are now moving away from him and his actions.
Support for the president also sagged in three key groups:

  • Only 29 percent of independent voters approved of Trump's performance, while 63 percent disapproved, compared to 38 percent and 56 percent, respectively, in the April poll.
  • White voters with no college degree narrowly approved of Trump by a 47 percent to 46 percent margin, compared to a 57 percent to 38 percent split last month.
  • White men also narrowly approved of Trump, 48 percent to 46 percent, after they approved of him by a 53 percent to 41 percent margin in April.

well no, that is not the problem. The problem isn't a divergence of opinion, it is the insistence by the left of a top down, one size fits all approach to everything. Liberals like you want power to be centered in DC and your liberal edicts to be obeyed throughout the land. Oh, and anyone who disagrees with your brilliance must either be stupid or racist. The problem is you.

Nice. Now repeat that several times a day.

It's called an affirmation.

They want everyone to have to follow their command no matter their opinion. They have no limiations on where this begins on where this ends, but they know that they are always right and everyone has to agree with them and do what they want them to do.

That's not actually what you did your post is a lie

Your post is dishonest

Not that long ago there were liberals in the GOP, powerful ones. There were conservative Democrats then, too.
It's mostly just been since Goldwater and Reagan that conservatives took ownership of the party.

If its sad people use memories, is it sadder when they have access to facts, and still can't get it right?

62 million people voted for the President. Half of that would be 10's of millions.

I hope the face plant didn't hurt you too much.

As to the silly Quinn Poll:

At some point, these biased polling agencies should learn that not everyone is a gullible as the target audience they are paid to create content for.

You know nothing about me, other than your closely -held beliefs about socialism and socialist, nor do you know much about the "left", which is a group in America that the rest of the developed world sees as moderate conservatives.

Uh huh

31% of Americans identified as Democrats (tying a 22-year low), 29% as Republicans, and 38% as independents. Nevertheless, more American independents leaned to the Republican Party when compared to the Democratic Party.

During the whole election season I found very few people that actually talked about the policy of the candidates as a reason to vote for them. The Democrats have let themselves become the party of nerdy, elitist, weak people in the eyes of many rural voters. On the other hand, the Republicans have successfully presented themselves as patriotic, tough, and salt of the earth. That is why Democrats lose. It isn't a policy fight as much as it is a presentation fight. For example, I live in what is now a solidly red state, but the Democratic candidate for Governor smashed the Republican. He smashed him because he was big, brash, and wasn't afraid to belittle his opponent. He made the Republican look weak, and there was nothing the guy could do about it.

So basically, it isn't about the issues. It's just about appearung boorish, unrefined, and ignorant like the electorate you are trying to represent. And if the policies of the ignorant boorish guy hurts them, so what? At least he can cuss good and act like an ignorant boor just like them. That's all that matters, right?

So the plutocrats and hostile foreign powers have figured this out and so are exploiting it and riding this large segment of the electorate like a bunch of servile donkeys now. Just cuss and wave the Bible, and it'll all be good. It's very sad to see this is what our country has come to

I have no idea what relevance your post has to the poll you provided a link to.
