No, say it isn't so. I'm so shocked. How about you?
Seems reasonable. He lied constantly, basically stopped doing his job after November 3, 2020 because he preferred to instead whine about the election or golf, and showed absolutely abysmal leadership on January 6, 2021. No reasonable person should consider him the "best" of what the GOP has to offer.

With all these retarded witch hunts, and all failures, you'd think they'd go after someone relevant. Someone that republican voters wouldn't even really care about. Like McConnell.

Forget 1/6. The man is mentally deranged and suffers from clinical narcissism. He is mentally deranged and belongs in an insane asylum, not the White House.

“We, the undersigned mental health professionals, believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States. And we respectfully request he be removed from office, according to article 4 of the 25th amendment to the Constitution, which states that the president will be replaced if he is ‘unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.’”
-Petition signed by over 60,000 American mental health professionals in 2017

We should treat Trump the same way we treated Communists during the cold war, or Radical Muslims during the war on terror.

People who want to destroy our Republic should not be allowed to participate in our political processes.

Trump should be completely excluded from participation given what he did in the run-up to Jan 6th.

It's not okay to make false allegations of election fraud in order to overturn an election. Period. Case closed. End of story.

Wasn't he already impeached on the grounds of inciting an insurrection and found not guilty? Can someone tell me how they could use this clause from the 14th amendment to ban him from running for office? How does that work? ironically, sounds like the Democrats want to rig the next presidential election.

From the O/P article:
"A handful of congressional Democrats are investigating whether former President Donald Trump can be prevented from holding elected office again through the application of an obscure portion of the 14th Amendment.

Section 3 of the amendment, enacted in 1868 and best known for enshrining the Equal Protection Clause, prevents any government official who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the US from holding office again."

Because McConnell hates Trump as much as the Dems.

He was not exonerated because he was innocent. He was exonerated because the republican senate was corrupt.

Republican senators explain:

"Just because actions meet a standard of impeachment does not mean it is in the best interest of the country to remove a President from office.”
-Marco Rubio (R)

It's the obvious next step.

After all, the only reason Republicans didn't vote to convict him is because he isn't president anymore. So they, too, should he down for this, right?

You, the collective, can't just make up the rules because you don't like them. He was found not guilty of inciting. The end.

90% of the GOp elected officials do, not just Mitch. Even those that kiss his ass hate him.

In psychology, these people who flock around a narcissist are called "flying monkeys"- after the minions of the Evil Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz. There are many reasons why they do it:

Because McConnell hates Trump as much as the Dems.

No one likes McConnell. But it was McConnell that held up things like the Covid relief package and the Build Back Better (BS). So why not go after him? You no, someone that's actually elected and affecting the democrats bills? Relevant people.

We'll see how just much evidence the Committee ends up with, but I have a feeling no matter how damning it is they'll continue to poo-poo, whitewash and lie.

He barely did the job before that, since for 4 years in office he spent that time campaigning for reelection.
