Democrats deserve to lose because of political incompetence

The only real mistake Dem surrogates and to some extent Harris is making is they are STILL trying to appeal to voters minds.

Voter's turn there minds off during election season assuming they are ever on at all.

The best you get out of voters is voting from the hearts and their souls. That is where the D appeals should be directed.

The worst you get from American votes is voting with their tummies and their genitals. That is where Trump aims his appeals. Smarmy shit that.

I see you are slightly liberal. I had some back and forth with someone today who doubled down that ALL DEMOCRATS are happy Kamala is the candidate.

I'm happy with her a candiate but I think having a proper primary would have been better. She would have been more tested as a candidate. But ideally you would want to run a dem who can distance themselves from the problems of the incumbent.

1. Biden should have dropped out a year ago and allowed for a proper primary.
2. Biden should have shut down the border and taken away Trump's main political argument.
3. That fool Merrick Garland should have indicted Trump right after Jan 6th.

Those are the three costly mistakes. Biden should have fired Garland and brought in someone who was going to uphold the rule of law.
Seeing what happened in Europe with their migrant crisis it was easy to see the disaster ahead. All over Europe, the migrant crisis has empowered the right-wing. That was obvious.
Are you blaming Democrats for the actions of Biden?

If you're so damn worried about strengthening the right wing, then quit complaining about it and vote for left wing candidates up and down the ballot.

What makes you think I won't. I don't vote for Republicans. It's become a personality cult.

I'm just frustrated the Democrats have bungled things so badly that this convicted felon has a solid chance to win. If not for Merrick Garland, Trump would be convicted and sentenced by now for his election crimes.

Are you blaming Democrats for the actions of Biden?

Well, Biden was the head of the Democratic party. He was the incumbent. Other Dems could have primaried him.

Trump is proving himself to be dysfunctional, foolish, and incompetent. He is so embarrassing his own followers avoid him. By any measure, Harris should be winning this election easily. She is not, and there is a reason for that.

“Great presidents?” Trump said. “Lincoln was probably a great president, although I’ve always said, why wasn’t that settled? You know, I’m a guy that—it doesn’t make sense we had a Civil War…. You’d almost say, like, why wasn’t that [settled]? As an example, Ukraine would have never happened, and Russia, if I were president. Israel would have never happened; October 7 would have never happened, as you know.”

This was Trump's reply to a ten-year old.

A voter named Ramiro González raised concerns about Trump’s inaction on Jan. 6. Trump responded, “Some of those people went down to the Capitol peacefully and patriotically. Nothing done wrong at all. Nothing done wrong. Action was taken. Strong action. Ashli Babbitt was killed,” he said, referring to one individual who was killed after entering the Capitol. “Nobody was killed. There were no guns down there. We didn’t have guns. The others had guns, but we didn’t have guns. … But that was a day of love.”

On Jan. 6, 2021, within thirty-six hours six people died: one was shot by Capitol Police, another died of a drug overdose, three died of natural causes, and a police officer died after being assaulted by rioters. Many people were injured, including 174 police officers.

Asked if there had been phone calls between he an Putin after he left office, Trump said, “I don’t comment on that, But I will tell you that if I did, it’s a smart thing. If I’m friendly with people, if I can have a relationship with people, that’s a good thing and not a bad thing in terms of a country.”
“They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there,” Trump.

"Former President Donald J. Trump declared himself the “father of I.V.F.” at a town-hall event Tuesday focused on women’s issues,"
Times.

There is much more. This is just in the last ten days.

“The polls — public and private — are closer in this election than any I have ever seen,” said Dan Pfeiffer, a former aide to Barack Obama. “Everything is within the margin of error.

So, why is it a dysfunctional Republican candidate for President isn't losing handily?

Because Harris is a black woman.

In 2016, a highly experienced woman -- First Lady for eight years, New York Senator, secretary of state -- ran against the incompetent, inexperienced Trump. Hillary Clinton lost, too.

The Supreme Court has helped Trump by delaying his two criminal trials past the November elections.

Is the Supreme Court siding with the former President?

The U.S. constitution is helping Trump by giving him an advantage in rural states with small populations.

2016 Presidential Election Results - Politico

The Constitution has provided Harris with a serious disadvantage ... the Electoral College.

The Electoral College strongly favors the "red states," which are largely rural with small populations. See Politico's report.

California has 39m people and has 55 electors.

Montana has 1.1m people and has 3 electors.

In California each elector represents 709 people.

In Montana each elector represents 367 people.

It's how Trump won the 2016 election while losing the popular vote.

The President is the only elected official, local, state, or federal, not directly chosen by the American people!

Well, Biden was the head of the Democratic party. He was the incumbent. Other Dems could have primaried him.
That doesn't happen in either party (sadly) when the incumbent decides to run.

This is the sugarcoated version.

Biden should never have been nominated.

Trump's main political argument is that he was better at running the economy.
He is not. He's a thief and a liar.
He would have been thrown out for lacking sufficient evidence.

The most costly mistake was the charade that Biden was a President in more than name.
This is right-wing rhetoric.
The whole party took a black eye.
Not necessarily.

The Supreme Court has helped Trump by delaying his two criminal trials past the November elections.

My point is Garland moved far too slowly. Trump wasn't indicted until 2023 which gave the Supreme Court a chance to delay it.

He has managed some useful efforts at the top of DoJ. As to the Trump cases, he flinched. I fail to see why Biden thought he would be a good AG.

The only rationalization I have is that Biden was trying to offer Garland something that would take the place of the SC appointment.

There are multitudes of DA's, State AG's on and on and on that would have been a better choice than Garland. It should have been obvious that a Judge was not going to make a good AG.

2. Biden should have shut down the border and taken away Trump's main political argument.
"Shutting down" the border would be a disaster.

"The U.S.-Mexico border is one of the busiest and most economically significant in the world, with a substantial amount of business and trade flowing across it every day.... In 2022, trade between the U.S. and Mexico surpassed $780 billion...."

It is what it is and there's only one ticket to vote for, regardless.

One can make a very strong argument in favor of #3.

The rest, however, is pure nonsense. Little more than regurgitated MAGA talking points.

With regard to #1, the reality is that Biden's timing actually worked in the Democrats' favor. Kamala Harris is wildly popular within the party today, and there are no hard-feelings from any primary losers in the party. The ONLY people upset about the nominee (i.e. Harris)....are Trumpsters who thought they were headed for a landslide victory against Biden. So, again.....it may not have come to fruition the way anyone could have imagined, but it worked out WONDERFULLY.

As for #2....sorry but it's just a very poor argument. A regurgitation of a MAGA talking point. The border was NEVER "open" under Biden in the first place. That, too, is a MAGA lie.
Trump invoked Title 42 and used it to expel 400K migrants (including legal asylum seekers). Biden KEPT Title 42 for another 2.5 years and used it to expel another 2 MILLION. Why don't you know this?
Trump imposed the "Remain in Mexico" policy for legal asylum seekers and used it to block or return only 70,000 migrants (ALL of whom were seeking asylum through the legal process). Biden took it to the Supreme Court and won, before terminating it in June of '22. It only applies to legal asylum seekers, which is a relatively small #.
Trump intentionally separated 4000 children from their Mexican parents and refused to reunite them, instead dispersing them within the US. Biden cancelled that inhuman policy on his first day in office and created a task force to identify those stolen kids and reunite them with their deported parents in their country of origin. GREAT decision.

For your education (along with anyone else who is seriously interested in the FACTS) below is a link to (literally) ALL of the Trump and Biden immigration policies and actions. Tell me if you can identify what exactly Biden did that created ANYTHING resembling an "open border".
Trump vs. Biden on immigration: A side-by-side policy comparison

[Hint: You won't be able to, because no "open border" has ever existed. There are reasons that explain the surge in migrants at the border (as well as the fact that migrant numbers are now BELOW where they were during the Trump years. But "open border" has NEVER been anything but a MAGA/FauxNews lie]
