DeMint to Berkeley: Support Our Marines or Lose Federal Funds

Maybe treason is a little harsh but I think some of the people from the Peoples Republic of San Francisco don't deserve the protection of our military

Any city that won't permit military recruitment should not be entitled to Federal funds.

And, to answer your question, the two concepts (opposition to recruiters' facilities or activities and people who blur the line of treason - and sometimes may cross it) are mutually attracted so it is really an academic argument as to whether one is technically the other.

Show me someone who loves this country and values the role of the military in protecting our freedoms who is also a traitor. You can't.

Show me a traitor who loves this country and our values and who bears allegiance to our government and system of government and who supports our military. You can't.

It is my opinion that the Peoples Republic of San Francisco is a separate country...........

Rich kids join the military all the time. Do you think the children of Congresspersons in the Army couldn't get into college? I suppose the true hero of the country is you, sitting at your computer and insulting those with true courage.

Although I'll probably die without ever having served military time, at least I have enough of a brain to realize there aren't a lot of jobs that represent someone with inner strength more than that of a U.S. soldier- the first or second greatest type on the planet.

rich kids do not "join the millitary all the time". The millitary has basically become an extension of the welfare system, providing jobs for the otherwise incapable.

There are two things we can do about this. The first is try to find or create alternative forms of government aid to help these people without requiring them to risk their lives.

The second is we can ignore the problem and call anyone who admits to it a traitor.

The first would be perferable, but it would require a serious blemish on the ego of the reactionary core of the American right. So, because Navy Pride will not admit to this problem, young poor people must contine to die in pointless wars because they didn't have the opportunity to get a real job.

You got a source for that? I happen to be attempting to join right now, and I think I have already done fairly well for myself in the private sector.

Putting aside your insults he is on the committee that disburses the funds to the colleges so yeah he is pretty important..........Your problem with him has nothing to do with that............

Don't believe it........Its a lie............Some of the best young people in this country join the military..........Its just some people in this country hate the military........

The biggest student committee on the UC Berkeley campus is the Republican Committee. Times have changed. The UCB of old would be holding huge protests over the war in Iraq, with arrests and all. Instead there are two people sitting at a table gathering signatures for a petition. The city has it's crazy liberals to be sure, evidenced in this development.

And electoral votes from the state of California are even more important then the opinion of some homophobic senator. Ummmm how is calling an openly homophobic man a homophobe an insult?

I thought he was describing a state of mind where water and city/county boundaries are secondary to mindsets.

In that paradigm they are part of the same dysfunctional jurisdiction.

Because his positions on Gays and whatever else he campaigned on helped him win the 2004 election.

Anyone that has a different opinion on gay marriage to you is a homophobe.......I guess rhat makes my friend jallman who is gay a homophobe.......:confused:
