This one is hilarious. :rofl

Delay is way behind in the polls in his attempt to keep his district. Why? Because he arrogantly thought he was so strong that, in his redistricting plan, he used a good chunk of his supporters in his district to dilute another district with, and moved lots of Democrat voters into his own district in an attempt to further dilute the Democrats' strength. As a result, his opponent this fall, Nick Lampson, holds a very solid lead over him, and bets are that Delay is going bye bye this fall, that is, if he is able to survive both the money laundering indictments here in Texas, and the indicments that are coming at him from the Abramoff Federal investigation.

Stick a fork in Tom Delay. He is done.

Man, everybody gerrymanders. It's obvious if you look at district maps for almost any state...oh no wait. I get it. Not about that. Carry on.:2wave:

danarhea, did you notice the statement made by Eric Thode, the republican chairman in DeLay's home county? He called those who think that DeLay will lose "delusional." He then goes on to say, "It's not a competitive district. It's not even an issue." Ummm, does this idiot forget that DeLay won his district with only 55% of the vote? And we all know that this 55% occurred (1) prior to DeLay's indictment, (2) prior to the Abramoff scandal, and (3) when DeLay was running against a democrat who isn't as popular as Nick Lampson (a conservative democrat). Not competitive? Bwahahahahhahaha. When he's calling people delusional, he ought to be looking at his reflection in the mirror.

It's not so much he Gerrymandered, but appearantly gerrymandered and screwed himself.

Thats the beauty of it.

To quote a passage from an ancient book that Delay and others pay lip service to: "Pride goeth before a fall".

It's not so much he Gerrymandered, but appearantly gerrymandered and screwed himself.

And add to that that he did so (Gerry-mandering) under highly suspect ethics and legality.
