We must completely eradicate Democrats from our nation by any means available.
That said, Newt fails to even use the term MAGA in his article, possibly an oversight, so I went to his personal website (Gingrich360.com) to complain, and while I could find no way to lodge a complaint, I did notice some enchanting children's books penned by Calista which I immediately bought, and one titled Trump and the American Future written by the Newt himself which I also bought.
With that, my complaint was mollified.

In that battle, the people want to limit plutocrats, while the plutocrats want to prevent the people from wanting to do that, so they launch propaganda against Democrats' policies. Newt's lie here is, "Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" was a failure."
This is Newt not arguing the big question of 'the people versus the plutocrats' honestly, much less admitting how clearly the people are right. This is Newt trying to convince people of a lie.
I've never hear one Republican, much less a leader, much less a liar like Newt, tell the truth about Democratic programs. Before Social Security, there was 90% elder poverty; after SS, that was reversed to 10%. I've never heard a Republican tell the truth about that.
Medicare has reduced family medical bankruptcies massively and saved countless lives; I haven't heard a Republican tell the truth about that. Or the ACA.
Here, the question is about Democrats wanting to reduce poverty, while the plutocrats want to increase it. It means more money for them, and cheaper labor. So they want to convince voters 'the Democratic policies don't work', to prevent the people supporting them.
The War on Poverty was a bold, moral attempt to reduce poverty. It had a few years to try; it was a first attempt and wasn't perfect.
The Republican myth is, 'it didn't work'. They want people to believe that. In fact, it reduced poverty by a third, long-term; while the economy was the best it has been since. I've never heard a Republican tell the truth about that.
His next propaganda is to state another lie as fact - "Jimmy Carter's failure in 1980". Because his propaganda wants to spread a lie that the Democratic policies didn't work. Carter inherited economic problems. The Nixon oil embargo had lasting effects, including inflation; Republicans responded with buttons for the public saying "Whip Inflation Now". Carter started actual fixes, including the appointment of Paul Volcker, who got things on track. Unfortunately, the fixes took a few years until the next presidential term.
Reagan, meanwhile, did bad (things) - and was in office during a recovery he didn't cause, and what he did cause came from debt For the first time in US history, a president chose huge peacetime debt. Reagan started the country on massive Republican debt that is now over $30 trillion, strangling the country, all to give absurd tax cuts for the plutocrats.

There were reasons trump won, and that's not on the list. Obama inherited the worst crash in 75 years and kicked off the longest growth in US history.

"Dems" used it rarely if at all. It was a phrase from someone in BLM. Joe Biden rejected it in his State of the Union with Democrats' support, calling for funding the police.

I actually replied to it as I read it line by line.
I think it's both, but I didn't see the book plug angle until later, which I think makes it clear it's both a plutocrat propaganda piece and a book plug, which is a good fit for Newt. Perhaps you have more comments about the posts?

Republicans can win elections but conservatism is a loser socially and nothing is going to turn back that tide. You're a population of withering octogenarians, shaking your scrawny and veiny arms at progress from your retiree communities, stuck in time like you're being preserved by the aliens in Cocoon. Except you're not. You're dying off and shrinking in terms of the general population. Just go back to enjoying shuffle board and Matlock and stop bothering people.

Huh. I just took your post as a reasonable comment pointing out the 'book plug', which I eventually got to when I saw it. I rephrased the post above, because by saying 'why don't you comment more on the posts', I was inviting you to do so, not asking for an explanation why you hadn't and felt I hadn't been clear about that.

The thing is that this OP is using Newt Gingrich to push some weird eliminationist rhetoric.
I am not sure If I want to feed that particular behavior. So my usual response of pointing and laughing at people edging up to violence because their team in politics demands ideological purity... I am not sure how much I really want to bump this thread up... because eradicating a political party by any means necessary is a dark place to be in.
I hope that sheds a little light... I hope.
