Should someone let it know its the ones hunting you that are supposed to be wearing that?
How? Why?  Is it someones 'pet'? Did someone sedate and do it? Seems the only way.

Sure as hell didn't dress themselves! 😂 Not cool though.

Like you said, most likely someone's "pet." Hopefully hunters are smart enough not to kill it.

That's not uncommon. It's a signal to hunters that the deer is domesticated.

When visiting family in rural Arkansas, I never walk in the woods without a hunter orange vest or hat.

To me it just makes it easier for the hunter to zero in........they are easy enough without it.

Ethical hunters won't. Domesticated deer aren't afraid of humans so it's not sporting to shoot them.

It’s not “sporting” to shoot them in the first place……..unless they are armed and shoot back!

It's the hunting that is sporting.

So far as the deer with vests and scarves....all cute until it gets tangled in a fence and the deer dies of slow starvation or is disemboweled by coyotes.

If that was the case, you’d use tranquilizer rounds.

Imagine walking through the woods looking for your pet and you find their blood-stained safety vest  😭☠️

That doesn't make sense. Would you recommend trying to grind some burger from the flanks of a tranquilized steer?

There is no sport in a rigged game.

Your first mistake is thinking it's a game. Second is thinking it's "rigged".
The old buck is just looking for a little love. Is it just coincidence that hunting season overlaps rutting season?IMG_3267.webp You thinking real clearly when you are on the prowl?

Most fish and game departments encourage the taking of does. Deer hunting season is not set to overlap the rut as a form of "rigging". The rut takes place when it takes place. The deer season is set by the biologists and bureaucrats at the various fish and game departments in accordance with their conservation goals. In my state, the archery season starts way before any rut, and ends way after.

My first post here was #12, we are getting off base to that statement.

That statement seemed to include a private definition of "sporting". One that nobody is obliged to accept, and that you seem unable to support.

We have arrived at semantics. Why don’t you describe your last hunting experience?

I completely understand subsistence hunting, but "sport/trophy/recreational" hunting has always baffled me.
