Despite knowing full well the scale of the Israeli mass murder campaign.

Kamala Harris refused to differentiate herself from said decisions; and it cost her the election.

Yeah because those palestinians in Gaza were victims of their own choices. They elected Hamas to run Gaza. Hamas didn't do a thing to help Gazans. They took what funds were available and used them for terrorism instead of using them to help the Gazans/.

Muslims / Arabs in US voted for this. They chose what was obviously the most anti-Muslim option. By far. It was clear but they chose it. They must have wanted it because nothing else makes sense. So they should enjoy what's happening now.

All of the positions taken in this thread lack nuance and a clear understanding of what happened in American foreign policy during this war, and why.
Joe Biden made the biggest mistake of his presidency and completely miscalculated his influence with Netanyahu. Bills were passed with military aid packages and no strings attached and once they were signed into law, those weapons were going in a series of shipments regardless of Biden's opinions of the way Bibi ran his war. Congress is not going to buy strings and attach them to their own aid packages later. By the time Biden realizes he had thrown away his clout, the 2024 elections were upon us, and Harris was in an almost impossible political position. Harris and a variety of Dems need the Jewish vote, and she needs the muslim vote in Michigan.

Biden is desperate to get that food to flow and a ceasefire, (he has some limited success there) get American hostages released, stop a broader middle east conflict, and at least appear to retain relevance and credibility while Netanyahu makes it more and more clear, he'd rather wait and work with Trump, who has committed to 100% support of his most brazen and aggressive war plans.

IMO, neither Biden nor Harris would have continued to sign any more bills for more aid to Israel or supported these draconian acts like Trump would and will, but the aid that was already in the fiscal pipeline from the budget bills already passed .... its already a done deal.

Biden was guilty of being naive and foolish. Harris is guilty of needing a lot of votes that were hidden between a rock and a very hard place.
