Dearborn mayor Abdullah Hammoud told Christian resident Ted Barham he was 'not welcome' in the city during a heated City Council meeting over street signs.

So here’s the Democratic mayor of Dearborn, Michigan calling one of his citizens an “Islamophobe” because he questioned naming a street after a man who’s made what appear to be statements inciting terrorism (he says they were taken out of context), and that he’s not welcome in his own city. Unreal. Honestly, where is the Democratic Party taking this country? Is this what they call tolerance?

The Dearborn situation has been escalating for a while. This is just an example of not being careful of who you allow into your country and who you elect into office.
 
****ing hilarious watching a guy who thinks Syghman Rhee—- a corrupt tyrant whose political ideology was directly inspired by Nazi Germany—- was a good ruler try and whine about Dearborn.

This is nothing more than the usual poutrage anyone would dare criticize Israel’s genocidal tactics in Gaza and efforts to colonize other people’s land.

Gee, it’s almost like Israel invading Lebanon to try and set up a puppet state, carving off a chunk of land to colonize, pissed off the Lebanese. Who could have guessed that?
 

A few years ago, something like this would have roused me to anger, and chide those on the left for not being willing to confront radical Islamist sentiment. But now, seeing who and what the country voted for, I do not care. Like, at all.

The city's residents get to name their streets after their heroes. Good for this mayor standing up for the majority of city residents against a local Karen.

I don't know. I wish he did. I wish we had a photo-negative reversal of MAGA to lead the Democrats, rather than the dickless, mealy-mouthed castrati choir we are stuck with led by Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer and Kenneth Martin.

I would rather have this confrontational stance than no pushback at all.

And? Does he support Hezbollah? And if he did, why does it matter? Tons of Americans support Israel, which is a far more horrible terrorist state engaged in genocide and ethnic cleansing. To me, there is little to no daylight between a die-hard vocal Hezbollah supporter and a die-hard, vocal uncritical Israel/IDF supporter. If anything, I am more worried about the Israel supporter because Israel receives billions of dollars in taxpayer money and people who criticize Israel are blacklisted.

Unless I'm misreading the source, it's 93% of LEBANESE CITIZENS, not immigrants, that have a positive view of Hezbollah.

Perhaps he is confusedly (or intentionally dishonestly) assuming that Lebanese immigrants to the US conformed 100% to that poll of Lebanese citizens. Which would be dumb because chances are that people who immigrated here from Lebanon did so because they did not like how shit was going down in Lebanon

They didn’t vote for Trump as much as they voted against Harris because of the Biden Administration’s support for Israel and perceived indifference to Palestinian casualties in Gaza.

Do I think Mayor Hammoud speaks for all Democrats? No. But many “tolerant” Democrats, who brand someone a bigot or a fascist if they happen to disagree with them? Yeah. I mean, obviously he got enough votes to be elected to the state legislature and mayor of a medium-sized city in Michigan.

You can’t incite people to terrorism in this country. That was the claim being made by the Christian minister and Dearborn resident. A Democratic mayor branded him a bigot and an Islamophobe for saying that. Democrats are fine with the First Amendment, but only for them. Anyone else is a fascist.
 

I specifically said that his parents were Lebanese Shia Muslims. Apparently, they immigrated here during the sectarian Lebanese Civil War. If you need a history lesson, somewhere between 1,500 and 3,500 of these people—Palestinians and Lebanese Shia Muslims—were massacred in the Sabra neighborhood and Shatila refugee camp in Beirut in September, 1982. I’m not a betting man, but if I were odds are Little Abdullah got the Lebanese history lesson and not the one about George Washington wintering at Valley Forge or crossing the Delaware.
 

Hammoud speaks for a tiny fraction of the left. You are deliberately blowing this little story out of proportion in order to suit your agenda.
