What exactly would sending them to jail achieve other than making it much harder for them to get a job in future?
They pled guilty so obviously know they did wrong and aren't hardened criminals.
I'm sure the judge involved had her reasons for giving the decision she did and thought it was the appropriate result as she had all the information at hand.

This need you guys have to punish people is why the US has so many people in prison and who re-offend because the system makes getting a job after you've been in prison for petty crimes.
Other countries use probation a lot more than the US and have way lower levels of recidivism.
maybe, just maybe the US could learn something from how Scandinavia deals with criminals but nope, being tough on crime and treating everyone like utter scum is what you guys love the most.

Did the same posters here have the same concerns when Trump pardoned a whole lot of people who attacked police and federal security guards on J6???? And they weren't 15 years old like these 2 either. We don't have all the information on these 2, but in general I would try to keep really young people like these out of prison in most circumstances where they are not an ongoing threat to society. Send them to prison and you probably create 2 more hardened criminals out of young people who might otherwise not end up like that.
