Czechia goes to the polls this fall for Parliamentary elections and a Deplorable is lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce on the prize. This is Andrej Babis. A billionnaire. He appears to be increasingly walking in the footsteps of Slovakia's Robert Fico and Hungary's Victor Orban. He had been Prime Minister before, back in 2017; but appears to have shifted further to the right. According to the few articles I looked at he appears to be surging. Not very good news for Z in Ukraine. Assuming Trump does not save Z from Putin before fall. Czechia has been one of Ukraine's strongest supporters. Czechia even went on a wild scouring of arms junkyards around the world for artillery shells for the Ukrainian Army.

This surge by the Deplorable Andrej Barbis appears to have spooked Czech Prime Minister Petra Fiala. The embattled Prime Minister is slamming the surging Barbis as Putin's man

Will Andrej Barbis suffer the fate of the Romanian Deplorable Georgescu? Last November the Romanian Constitutional Court intervened, to the relief of Bruxelles, to annul the first round of Presidential elections after Georgescy took pole position.

“He helps Vladimir Putin, it’s very clear,” he added.

Fiala went on to say that the Czech-led ammunition initiative — set up to to gather donations from allied countries to cofinance the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine from producers around the world — could be in danger if the government changes.

Based on surveys carried out by STEM research institute, the former premier Babiš is dominating the polls with 33 percent, with Fiala’s SPOLU coalition barely reaching 17 percent.

Babiš, leader of the populist ANO party, has been echoing rhetoric by leaders Viktor Orbán in Hungary and Robert Fico in Slovakia, insisting that the real solution to Russia’s war in Ukraine is diplomacy instead of sending further weapons. Kyiv, for its part, doesn’t believe that the Kremlin is truly serious about ending the conflict diplomatically.

Just like its round the corner. Czechs go to the polls Oct 3rd and 4th. That is this Friday and Saturday.

There appears to be little alarm in Bruxelles even though polls have a Deplorable in the lead. At least nothing comparable to the hysteria in Bruxelles in the runup to the elections in Georgia, Romania, Moldova. Maybe the Commission has things under control.

The blue is the standing for the Deplorable Andrej Babis. He scores high on every Deplorable metric: anti Globalist; not a fan of il Duce in Ukraine at all; soft on Putin and Russia.

His Party initials ANO stands for Association of Deplorable Citizens

Andrej Babiš used to be very Pro West and Pro EU, but something happened in between the end of his government in 2021 and now. In 2023 when he was running for President he made the controversial statement that Czechia would not come to the aid if Russia attacked NATO members. So yes, something has changed, I wonder if his old KGB contacts reeled him back in? Anyways, he might just be another Fico, and change his position daily, and always cave anyways.

Bruxelles may not be nervous at the return of the Deplorable Andrej Babis, but Czech President - not sure if his is a hollow ceremonial post- certainly is. The good President addressed his fellow citizens he may be afraid will go rogue to:

<<
“We need a government that will defend our sovereignty as part of the democratic community and will not leave us at the mercy of Russia and its ambition to reestablish a sphere of influence in Central and Eastern Europe,” the Czech president said.
<<

Czech President Petr Pavel must be haunted by phantom Russians
