So a preacher gets busted paying for hot gay sex, and then he gets "cured" of homosexuality in 3 weeks? Kinda reminds me of how Ted Bundy found Jesus after getting caught.

It’s the End Times! It’s Ripley’s Believe It or Not come to life! It’s an all-you-can-eat freak-out buffet! I’m not sure what it is, but it certainly is getting weird out there. A champion hang-glider had her kite shredded and her head pecked in mid-air by a pair of eagles. A group of sharks worked away for four days and finally succeeded in sinking a shrimp boat. A NASA astronaut drove 900 miles, clad in a trench coat and a diaper to terrify a rival in love. And Rev. Ted Haggard, after a mere three weeks of counseling, is now certified 100 percent all-American heterosexual!

The eagles may have been disturbed while nesting, and the boat was probably leaking tempting shrimp-dribblings. These things happen. But ex-gay after three weeks? I thought you had to go to Camp Homo-No-Mo all summer for that. Haggard’s Bigot Gawd can work miracles, I tells ya!

Oddly, it’s been three months since the revelations regarding Ted’s alternative worship-style, and one can’t help but wonder what the rest of that time was devoted to, if the “cure” took only three weeks. Knocking on the bedroom door, maybe, and whining, “Please, honey, let me in? It’s not like it was another woman! Honey?”

Truth to tell, Haggard wasn’t “cured”; he “discovered” that he was completely straight while in counseling. What an epiphany that must have been! Hallelujah! His three years of hot man-on-man action were just “acting out,” and he’s still working on finding out why he acted out that way. The possibility that he wasn’t acting at all seems not to occur to him, or to his four-minister oversight panel who’ve apparently sniffed and found nothing unmanly (or other-manly) about him.

Haggard and his wife intend to leave Colorado Springs for someplace where he can heal, probably somewhere where men are few, ugly, and not for rent. And they’re going to take online university courses and go into psychology, bless their helpful little hearts. I suppose they’ll be signing up at CrackpotUniversity.com or something — some school that avoids teaching that homosexuality hasn’t been a disorder in decades, and will allow Ted to get into “curing” other sinners like the one he used to be.

The eagles and the sharks have nothing on this for sheer fvck-up-edness.

Haggard is not cured...he is just simply hyponotized with Christian propaganda.
 
Did any of you see an interview with the guy he was paying to have sex with him? He was asked about Haggard being cured, and the guy pointed out that heterosexual men don't like performing oral sex on other men. It was priceless!

He is a disgrace to the Church and no one should listen to anything he says. Anyone that believes him and follows him is a moron. Thank God there are many more good Pastors then bad.
 
I'm still trying to figure out why they're focusing so much energy on "curing" his homosexuality... when he just spent three years smoking meth with a whore behind his family's back.

Adultery, prostitution, and drug abuse... and they've all got their panties in a bunch over the fact that the prostitute he was having sex and smoking drugs with was male.

You're talking about Ted Haggard one of the biggest leaders of the Christian evangelical movement in the US today, who was also one of George W. Bush's right-hand men and advisors. I would give him the 'Hypocrite of the Year' Award for speaking out against gay marriage and against gay rights while secretly having a very sordid sex affair with a male prostitute and drug addict.

Aside from what this has done to Mr. Haggard, I just LOVE what it has done to smear the already pretty shaken face of the Evangelical movement and the anti-gay hate movement. It shows just how stupid it is to judge others and try to convince everyone else to judge others. This couldn't have happened to a more deserving group of total hypocrites. I only hope they are smart enough to figure out that they don't need their religion to get 'saved'. If anything, it's made them look pretty stupid.

Does that mean that you think our president is a moron? After all, Mr. Haggard WAS one of Dubya's advisors. Not to mention the over 20 million Evangelical Christians who regularly listened to him. (And I think that is a conservative number if I remember correctly).

Mr. Haggard proves that the Evangelical movement itself is nothing more than an unfortunate spectacle of disastrous hypocrisy.
 

I guess smoking crack with whore's and adultery are just sins you can merely ask Jesus to forgive you in a quiet prayer to yourself, but homosexuality must be one of those kinds of sins that requires a little more effort, I wonder why? Does God have to spend more TIME with the sinning homosexual to 'make him straight'?

Just goes to show you how clearly INSANE the evangelical movement really is. You bring up an excellent point, and a point that the fundies were so blinded by their hatred towards homosexuality that they couldn't even see.
 

He wasn't an advisor, he had phone conversations with Bush as they are (or were in Haggard's case) Born Again Christians.
 
Yep. another preacher "cured". Cool. LOL! You canNOT be cured of gayness. You can supress it but it will still be there. I heard on the radio that Haggard and his wife are taking psycology classes and getting a degree then moving to Missouri or Iowa to practice! Look out you people in those states. Im one of them--I live in Missouri, and Im gay! :lol: :rofl Of course they will have clients, the ones who believe that crap. ---FYI Gay guys get ALOT of married guys wanting "favors"
 

Are you a doctor or psychologist? If not then I'd advise against absolute statments like this.

Sorry to play Devil's Advocate btw, I'm all for gay rights.
