Crossing party lines with your vote.

A couple we know in Wisconsin, intensely Democratic Party in voting history for 4 decades, informed us (to our true surprise) they voted for Trump because Biden is just TOO corrupt, lying too much in his campaign, and has a decades history of doing nothing he says. That really did surprise us. We have been told by a couple other Democrats they voted for Trump because of opposition to Biden specifically OR because they intensely oppose another lock down and being thrown into unemployment again.
:ROFLMAO:
If that "Wisconsin couple" believes that Biden (rather than Trump) is "too corrupt and lies to much"....they were never Democrats.

Either you, or your Wisconsin "friends" are lying about something. But thanks for the laugh. You people are really feeling desperate these days, obviously.

My guess is that this is a story you heard recently from some right-wing/fakenews pundit....and you have "appropriated" it for your own purposes.

Regardless, only an absolute moron (or an amoral, lying rightwinger) could believe that Biden is more dishonest and corrupt than Donald Trump.

TDS is a very serious condition.

Maybe they don't want the house they have lived in their entire marriage - and was her parents before - burned down. They are in a riot prone area of Milwaukee, have experienced riots before, and they want the police to protect their house this time too. They understood what really happened when Biden said "6 hours to fire or you don't get a billion dollars" meant - regardless of the laptop.

When one of them first started to shift was while visiting her. The wife was talking about how the government should do more to help the poor. My wife saw a bum begging on the corner and circled around in the car saying "give him half your money in your purse." Of course, she wouldn't give the poor beggar a dollar. That got a discussion going. The government doesn't spend its money. It spends her money on someone else.

Maybe most of all he is a union member in the theater arts. He has been out of work since April and still is. She also lost her job, now working odd jobs of 10 hours here and 20 hours there. They probably are going to lose their house due to the perpetual Wisconsin governor's perpetual lockdown summarily ordering them into poverty and very possibly homelessness. They understand this was to profit Bezos and the other International billionaire investors in Chinese factories. The Biden family for-personal-profit foreign negotiations just took it TOOOOO far in corruption.

Anyway, it was an evolved process. Very possibly if the nominee had been Warren or one of the other candidates they would have voted Democrat again.

TO THIS DAY... NOT ONE DEMOCRAT on this forum - not ONCE - has even pretended they can list even ONE Biden accomplishment in his 47 years in government. In fact, who Biden is in the Senate is Mr. Mastercard and VISA. He is the reason credit card interest can be as high as over 30%. Biden is the big-money's candidate.

In 47 years, Biden has never proposed anything that was not profitable to the super rich. He's never done ONE THING ANY Democrat can brag on. You don't. No Democrat does. He's just "not Trump," nothing else. When Democrats on the forum explain they would vote for a pile of dog poop over Trump, they meant it. But only truly mindless partisan hacks would ever say such a thing. They were/are Democrats, but they are not mindless partisan chumps.

Just watched another insider from the trump administration who has voted republican since she was eighteen say she voted straight democratic this election.

I've heard many republicans say there is no way they are voting for trump again and will vote for biden. Have you heard democrats in any kind of numbers saying they can't vote for biden so they are voting for trump? I haven't.

It was criminally illegal for you to watch how another person voted. What is the name of the "insider from the Trump administration" you claim you watched vote? I think your message is a lie and that you didn't watch a Trump administrator vote straight Democrat at all.

Lincoln project person? What republican would vote straight democrat ticket and all the damange that would cause? That's right a "republican" would not do that!!
This one is, straight Dem. ticket first time ever, since Reagan. Reps need a reboot.

I didn't say I watched her vote. You said that.

What I've heard are a few high profile Republicans saying they will or have voted for Biden, but will be voting straight Republican down ballot. No to any Democrats saying they'll vote for Trump. I haven't heard a single one of these Republicans who say they'll be voting for Biden say they'll vote straight Democratic ticket. Quite to the contrary.

So that makes my statement untrue because you haven't heard it? The woman was part of homeland security, she quit.

I didn't mean that, it just most I've heard and read about are stating they'll vote for Biden and then GOP down ballot. The High profiler's that is as the average non-high profile person doesn't get any media coverage. Like the former staffers of Mitt Romney, G.W. Bush, Micheal Steele, John McCain have come out stating they will or have voted for Biden, but went GOP down ballot. Mitt Romney and Micheal Steele, themselves stated they voted for Biden.

But no, because there's been no media covering the average republican voter, what you said doesn't make it untrue. There's bound to be some. But how many lifelong Republicans who can't stand Trump and will be voting for Biden will abandon the rest of the Republican ticket because of one man? I suppose we'll have to wait until the exit polls to find out.

You might also find this interesting. I certainly did.

Some "Biden Republicans" just keep talking about a new Political Party

I voted for biden even though he was not my choice for candidate. My vote was more against trump than for biden and I feel that may be true for many. I agree most republicans will still vote party down ticket. I also believe the gop will lose enough senators to swing the senate. The right likes to call anyone who disagrees with trump, trump haters. I don't hate trump but I surely despise him and some of these gop senators and many feel the same. This election is so much more about trump and the gop than it is about biden.

I agree. I've said numerous times this election is all about Trump. Biden just happens to be his opponent. I see at least a 4 seat gain for the Democrats in the senate. They'll lose Alabama, but pick up Arizona, Colorado, Maine, North Carolina and Iowa. They could add more depending on whether Biden has coat tails. Montana and the two Georgia seats are real possibilities.

I voted for Biden and for my Democratic congressman, but voted Republican for our two Georgia senate races. I want Trump gone, but I don't want total, completely one party control with no checks on that power. I positive if the Democrats gains control of the senate, they'll end the filibuster totally. Making the senate just a miniature house of representatives where a single vote majority means total, dominate control over everything. No check on what will be absolute total power for the Democrats. That I don't want. If there had been no nuclear option, the 60 vote cloture vote required for nominations and legislation, I too would have voted democratic in our two senate races.

Both major parties disgust me to the max, I dislike McConnell and I dislike Schumer. But since neither is from Georgia there's nothing I can do about them. The only thing I can do is vote against total, absolute power of one party control. My goal is to get rid of Trump, but keep the senate in Republican control so absolute power and total one party control doesn't happen this election while keeping the House in Democratic control.

So that is what this election is to me, getting rid of Trump while avoiding total, absolute power of one party control. The old adage of power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely applies for me to this election.

There is no way to vote cross party lines. The GOP is dead so the only other choice is the Koch ALEC Anti American Style Fascist Party which had not been sanctioned as yet which spells FRAUD.

Vote democrat across the board at all levels of local, state and federal government.

Normally I would agree with you. I think our government works best when the houses are divided. However with mitch in control of the senate I want to see the R's swept out of power for the next four years. Mitch is the one who said let the states go bankrupt. What kind of governing is that? There was another relief bill for americans until the R's stopped it and now mitch is saying no relief until at least january. Why january? Here's my guess. if trump loses but the gop keeps control of the senate we won't see a bill passed to help americans. If trump loses and the senate flips, then republicans can complain about the cost of the relief bill and push the deficit hawks front and center and the gop will once again become the party of no helping not a soul. The gop has lost its integrity, honesty and morals. It's up to them to earn them back.

I understand what you're saying. But short term revenge could lead to a lurch so far left it will make your head spin. It would probably lead to the end of the filibuster, to adding 2 or 4 justices to the SCOTUS, plus all sorts of far left legislation and programs because they have a 51-49 advantage. Reid's first use of the nuclear option for a very short term political gain has led us to the present situation with the SCOTUS. Neither Kavanaugh nor Barrett would have happened without Reid first use and precedence setting use of the nuclear option. It still would have required 60 votes for cloture. I think we have to think long term and avoid knee jerk reactions or doing them just because we can.

I agree that McConnell needs to go, I also think Schumer needs to go also. From my advantage point or point of view, both senate leaders have put party above country. But what happens, happens. In our modern political era of polarization, divisiveness, mega, ultra high partisanship, both major parties are only thinking of themselves and their base, not America as a whole. Just their 30% of America and as far as each is concerned, the other 70% be danged.

I do not agree about the nuclear option. For the first two years the gop didn't have to worry about the votes for either of those two justices. If they did, I would bet my bottom dollar mitch would have used the nuclear option to get them appointed. Mitch more than trump is horrible for republicans. The supreme court may hand many decisions to the conservatives but how many of them will directly help the average republican compared to how many decisions will help big business and the super wealthy?

I fear total, complete, absolute power more than I fear or dislike McConnell. So we'll just have to disagree there. Mark my word, Schumer, a more tactful McConnell will weld that power for his party and his party only. You watch, first Schumer will eliminate the filibuster for legislation and then add four more justices to the SCOTUS. Along with whatever else the far left wants. I find it totally ironic that the party who supposedly protects minority rights was the party to away with minority rights in the senate. They did so because they had the power to do so. Not that the nuclear option was right, they did it right in the middle of a session after the senate rules had been agreed on by both parties. Reid and Schumer broke their own rules they had made.

I don't trust either Schumer or McConnell. Once the Democrats have total, complete power with no rights whatsoever to the minority party, your head will spin totally off your shoulders. Watch and see. I doubt Biden can keep his Democratic congress under control for a more moderate, a more for America as a whole than just the 30% who make up the Democratic base.

But we'll see, time will tell. You could be right, I wrong. I just don't want to take that chance. Besides, I like divided government, it provides a check on power.
