About 20+ years ago, the World Champion Renault team donated their F1 car to do a lap around the Top Gear track and posted a speed of 59 seconds; the fastest road legal car of the same period pegged a time around 1minute 20+ and the road legal times have been coming down ever since but nothing could get below 1 minute 10 until this year when they managed to get an Aston Martin Valkyrie on the track and that posted an amazing 1:09.

And then this happened - the McMurtry Spéirling - a fan suction electric car that produces amazing downforce to keep the car glued to the track. The video shows the McMurty shatter the record set by an F1 car.

And then just to show how powerful the downforce is - they tested out whether the car really could be driven upside down. (It doesn't go far - the rig is not big enough)

Just mind boggling.

Wow! That care really sucks!
