COVID-19 will soon surpass the Spanish flu as America’s deadliest pandemic

Thanks to: Biden, the CDC, Fauci, the WHO, the Chinese, the MSM, the Deep State

If only Americans had listened to: Carlson, Trump, DeSantis, Abbott, ZeroHedge, we would be in much better shape.

now, let's count the number of Republican posters (who churn out threads about COVID and sew distrust in the vaccines or blame this thing on Biden/the CDC/Fauci/etc) who come into this thread.

so far they have avoided this kind of stuff and just keep churning out their own threads to create their own narrative.

little Rush Limbaughs they are.

...and so the celebration begins.

Unfortunately too many did just that.

At least from an environmental standpoint as the US would lose population even faster.

Of the WW1 US military deaths, 45,000 were due to the H1N1 1918 pandemic:

We blew right by our largest total war death loss of 620,000 in the Civil War.

...and so the celebration begins.
actually, all sane people are trying to do is get the dumbasses to go get vaccinated so less people die and less families are left broken.

you're for that, correct?

OP is showing only healthy people which are the exception not the rule. Primarily, the old and the fat die from Covid.

The vaccinated have 9% of the unvaccinated risk, not 0.0009% as vaccine-pushers would have us believe.

Covid deaths are not being expressed in "1 in x" - if this were so, especially on a worldwide scale, the true power of the Spanish Flu would be known.

This is a joke, right?

Why is it called the Spanish Flu?
We don't call Covid the Chinese Flu.
You can call it A/H1N1 if you prefer. The other interesting tidbit is it didn't originate in Spain. Technically it should be called the Kansas flu, or the US flu because the first documented case was in Kansas and spread to Europe through the US soldiers sent to fight in WW1. The origin of the virus is still inconclusive, which is why I referred to the first documented case.

1. Old and obese people deserve to live even if you don't give a shit about them.

2. I cannot recall anyone, either on this forum, or in the media, or on social media, ever saying the vaccinated have "0.0009%" of the risk as compared to the unvaccinated population. This is one gigantic strawman.

3. When you say the vaccinated experience "9% of the unvaccinated risk" that is still a huge reduction in risk worth everyone's time to take 30 minutes out of their day to get a free vaccine that has virtually no side effects.

COVID-19 Vaccine Proves 99.999% Effective In New Jersey

Data shows about 99.999% of vaccinated Americans have not had a deadly COVID-19 breakthrough case

How Good Are Vaccines? Try 99.9999% Effective

About 99.999% of fully vaccinated Americans have not had a deadly Covid-19 breakthrough case, CDC data shows - this one is CNN, so surely they are correct.

I'll toss the 3rd Bloomberg figure, it looks like they were so excited about the 9's that they threw an extra one in. What we have here is an advertised (and contrived) 99.999% figure that has nothing to do with case fatality rate of the vaccinated.

9% of the vaccinated are going to be really disappointed and wonder why they couldn't get the 99.999% deal that the media promised them. These people thought they were effectively immune.

Comparing Covid numerically to the Spanish Flu is equally as disingenuous.

Oh, okay. I understand why you've arrived at this, but look at the dates. The problem with what you're doing here is that you're referencing old data. The vaccines are simply less effective with the Delta variant, and the Delta variant became prominent in the U.S. in recent months. It takes time to collect the data and study it and write the reports, so when you're looking at a study published in early August or late July it's already months old. The Bloomberg article is from April! The New Jersey article is counting deaths "through" July, meaning its including everything before July.

Also, you do understand that even though the vaccine is not totally effective against Covid-19 delta variant it's still useful and worth taking, right?

No, you're wrong, someone falling ill with Covid-19 is not going to be disappointed at public health authorities because the vaccine is less effective against the Delta variant. It's not the fault of public health authorities that the Covid-19 virus mutated.

They will be disappointed at all the ignorant, belligerent, spiteful Trump supporters who had 6 to 8 months to get vaccinated but still refused to do so because of their "**** YOU THATS WHY!!! LOL ROFL MAGA!!! DIE OLD PEOPLE DIE DIE DIE DIE FAT PEOPLE DIE DIE DIE HAHAHAHA **** YOU MAGA TRUMP 2024!!! HAHAHAHA COVID-19 JUST CULLS THE OLD AND THE FAT SO WHAT THE **** DO I CARE YOU STUPID LIBTARD HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH MAGA 2024" mentality.

That's the kind of people we are dealing with. Trump supporters are refusing to take the vaccine and they are refusing to do so because they are selfish, mean, and stupid.

I agree with you. It's not a good comparison.

I think the media should be brutally honest and they should tell the stories of the people dying from Covid-19 because those stories are heart-breaking enough, even if there is a portion of our population who thinks old and fat people do not deserve to live. Most people aren't asshole Trump supporters. So I agree with you on that. Most people will understand that we still don't want old and fat people to die, and they will feel empathy towards them even if Trump supporters act like stark-raving mad psychopaths who seem intent on killing them.

No one is stupid enough to think that Covid is anywhere nearly as bad as the pandemic of 1918. To downplay the horrors of that time would be stupid and cruel.
