Court releases video of attack on Paul Pelosi | CNN Politics

San Francisco Superior Court on Friday released video and audio recorded during last year's attack on Paul Pelosi after a California court ruled the district attorney's office must make the materials public.

The San Francisco Superior Court just released body cam footage from the night David DePape almost murdered Paul Pelosi. The video opens with police arriving on the scene and knocking on the door. When it opens, you see Pelosi and DePape appearing to struggle over a hammer, with DePape then unloading a full power swing into the elderly man's skull. Watching the video, it's kind of a miracle the guy wasn't killed.

I won't directly link to the video due to it's graphic, blood nature, but it's out there for anyone who wants to see it.

Thats what Im asking. What do you want to debate? The only opinion in your op is " it's kind of a miracle the guy wasn't killed." I havent watched it but Ill take your word for it. Not much to debate though.

Except for months after the attack there were rightwing conspiracy theories abounding about this just being a gay lover's quarrel. It is nice to ONCE AGAIN show up rightwing conspiracy nuts for their nutty conspiracies - so THAT is the point!
 
Watched the video and it won't change the minds of those who think this wasn't an attack but a gay lover's spat, I saw the video on youtube, and here is a few examples of the comments:

Why would Paul just stand there with a blank expression & not say, “This guy is threatening to hurt me”, Right when the door was opened…?
Cocktail in his hand, I thought he was sleeping.
They caught that “man” with his pants down quite literally
I’m not a lip reader, but I think the guy with the hammer was saying “thou shalt not trade stocks with Congressional intel” or he could be saying, “but Pauly, you told me you and Nancy were divorcing”.
They both appear to be smiling when the cop greets them. I'm confused as hell over this incident.

I am sure the folks who posted those comments were gaffawing all over themselves. Real mature adults. Worse: As this thread progresses we will have a few more mature adults making the same kind of snide remarks as those presented above. Count on it.

Well, I will link to the video. Anyone who wants to watch it can make their own decision.

Something distinctly missing is a third party opening the door. I'm not sure how the existence of another person came up in the first place.

If you look FARTHER up, there is a rules section which states that opening posts must contain "Your own unique content to spur discussion". I saw no such content which would spur discussion which is why i asked for some. If you look FARTHER up, this is Debate Politics, a political debate forum. As such, you would expect thread would contain something resemebling debate, in which two sides argue their opinions about a topic (political in this case). I saw no such content which would appeared to be a debate, which is why i asked for some.

Reposting a link takes no brain engagement. Insulting people also takes no brain engagement. Try engaging yours.

Yeah the video shows that the DOJ's report was not true/a lie.
It also shows that the NBC Reporter got suspended for telling basically the Truth, yet no one was suspened for lying about
the Biden Laptop being a Russian Operation.



The video shows that Pelosi knew this guy, somehow. It was after 2am so it could have been from a bar....

These RWNJs are so despicable, it's sickening. The facts are simple. They refuse to believe them. But what we do know is the asshole that attacked Paul will be imprisoned for many, many years.

The sad part is violence has become the norm with some of these morons. So, it won't be the last attack, as we've already seen.
