You may be believing that this is a story out of Saudi Arabia or Pakistan.
In 2008 police in London arrested John Worboys a serial rapist who worked as a cab driver in London and had raped several woman who had taken his cap in late hours via the use of date rape drugs. In 2009 He was found guilty and sentenced in court for the rape of 12 women.
But further investigations reveiled that Worboys had probably raped more than 100 women. And most shocking of all, the investigations reveiled that many victims who reported the crime to the police were not believed by the police. Who gave excuses such as "a cab driver wouldnt do such a thing, because it would threaten his livelyhood".
This week a court found an entire police unit to have been neglegent and ignorant towards victims who had reported rape crimes.
In my opinion, this shouldnt just end by the court puting the blame on the responsible police unit. The officers who neglegted the reports of rape victims should be charged and prosecuted for their criminal neglegence and suspended for not doing their job!
Unbelieveable that something like this can still happen today in the 21st century in a modern European democracy!!!
