I remember with great fondness a long-time friend who passed away a few years ago, a Jamaican man named Isaiah. He and I were members of the same Methodist congregation in Connecticut for nearly 40 years. We all remember Isaiah for how he always responded to our greeting "How are you doing today, Isaiah?" He always responded "Counting my blessings." Today I count Isaiah among the many blessings God has given me.

Have a wonderful Thanksging day everyone here at DP.

So many things to be thankful for - my wife, our home, our pups, our health, our families, friends, church, being able to reach my 70's still intact :), all the times I was spared tragic outcomes as the result of foolish, youthful antics, my experiences, schooling, memories, my parents and their example and upbringing of us kids, my grandparents, my job/livelihood, food on the table, I could go on and on...

For most of us I believe things are very good….and hopefully you are blessed and thankful enough to give a little back.

My daughter is a DAV and that is now where my attention and extra funds have gone for a few years. She is okay, but so many others are not. Take a moment at your table today to remember and thank those who have given, and still give their all to the country they love, so that we may all live with the freedoms we so enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving All
