Are you sick of the systemic corruption all around us? I know I am. The campaign finance system is legalized bribery.

The window dressing laws like the McCain-Feingold law to reform it haven't changed anything, every time they "reform" it, they only create new loopholes while closing old ones and the effect on democracy is the same. The American public is being sold out at every opportunity.

We need to publically finance clean elections, a taxpayer cost that would be a tiny fraction of what we currently hand out in corporate welfare every budget year. While few states already have them, funding clean federal elections is the real only solution.

I just found this blog that really hits the nail on the head, its a must read if you care about this country. Check it out. :2usflag:

Here is a teaser for the recent PBS special titled "Votes for sale?"

Its part of the NOW series, and its being run on PBS quite a bit. Its on in a few hours on my local station. Check your local listings, (just use tvguide.com or yahoo tv). This program is a must see.

Corporate campaign money as the root of corruption in washington is the broader picture in politics most people haven't even thought about (because the corporate media doesn't want us to know about the truth about our system because they are the key beneficiaries of the legalized bribe system. Hush hush about it to protect their own conglomerating interests and also by profiting off the ads from their corporate advertisers who keep them in business).

Its not political free speech when corporations and special interests are donating money when that amount of money is so far beyond what an average voter can donate, thats not freedom that is oppression.
