Im sure most of you are aware the sentence that Madoff has gotten. My question is this with the well deserving sentence that he got is the era of soft treatment of Corporate/White Collar Criminals over?
He hasn't been sentenced yet. Won't be for a couple months.
Then where did I hear that he got twenty to life?

If I walked into a WalMart and stole $40 from the register my ass would be in jail.
Of course it's not over. The outrageous ones like Madoff (and Skilling and Fastow from Enron) will always get lots of prison time, but your run-of-the-mill embezzler or fraudster is just as likely to run for office as he is to run from the cops--hell, in Illinois, you can't hold elective office until you learn how to properly give and take bribes.Im sure most of you are aware the sentence that Madoff has gotten. Are you sure about that? I thought, in ILL, you had to get elected first, then you were required to take bribes.Of course it's not over. True....and there is the sobering reality one really can't give a 70-year old man a lot of prison time, simply because of the high probability he will die of natural causes within the next 3-5 years.Madoff may not get a lot of prison time though really.
Do you think all of the money invested with him was just spent or vanished?
There is some of it left and the feds will want his cooperation in finding it.
