Core inflation in February hits 2.8%, higher than expected; spending increases 0.4%

Faux seems to be a bit slow on issuing the talking points this morning…
Still figuring out how to spin Carney's comments last night, the subsequent request by Trump for a call and then Trump's new found respect and civility. All Carney has said so far is to reiterate what he said yesterday....after the election conversations aimed at redefining our relationship with the US both economically and military will be scheduled but there is no way back.

Who would of thought that we could actually elect a president so bad that he could screw up a solid, long-standing relationship with Canada? That defies imagination as well as speaks to what a wretched incompetent Trump is.....

It’s even worse than that.

Just.
So.
Stupid.

I seem to keep saying this about these reports: It's too soon to make a thorough analysis.

Plus, 2.8% is not even remotely a problem. The average inflation between 1991 and 2019 was 2.5%. It wasn't a problem when Biden was in office, thus it isn't a problem now.

That is not to say that everything is peachy, only that the damage Trump is doing is going to take a little time to show up in actual data.

MAGA seem to have abandoned the economic threads.

Oh well . . . DOW down nearly 600 pts . . . seems to be S.O.P. these days . . .

The golden toilet age is here....

Dow sinks more than 700 points. Stocks are on track for their worst quarter since 2023

Museum offers gold toilet to Trump instead of Van Gogh's work - report

New York's Guggenheim museum has turned down a request from President Donald Trump to borrow Van Gogh's work for the White House - instead offering him a gold toilet, media reports say.

Maybe trumps goal was to get rid of Justin all along.?
We all saw how melaina looked at him.

Worst POTUS since JIMMY CARTER!!
Jimmy Carter was a good president. Inflation during his term was due to the oil embargo and Alan Greenspan jacking up interest rates to double digits.
As an aside, a friend's mother bought 30 year T-bills yielding 13%.

All the dumbass MAGAs down here in the South around me will think this is a good thing because that's the way Fox will spin it.

Dow is down 700 points and falling. How's that econo-me doing, righties?!

Not exactly true .... America struggled with stagflation for about 10 years. Ford and Nixon attempted to fix it with price controls and WIN buttons ;),

WIN Button.jpg

but it was actually Jimmy Carter, though his fed chairman appointee, Paul Volker, actually solved the stagflation by letting interest rates float up until it broke the back of the stagflation. Of course, Carter got blamed for the problem that he did not create but actually fixed (see Joe Biden, you have company).

I agree that Jimmy Carter was one of America's most underrated presidents. He certainly had better character than just about any President I have seen in my lifetime, though I think Obama and GW Bush were both men of strong character.
