I'm anti-political party because those parties consistently place their self-interests as a collective above the needs of the citizens and sensible operation of the government. They care more about owning each other than implementing effective solutions to the problems that Americans face.

Hence why everything is so ****ed beyond all recognition.

But still a booming economy with falling unemployment, massively rising GDP, falling childhood poverty, declining fossil fuel use..

What is wrong with that?

not many voters care. or if they care they care only in the abstract. When voters are told the biggest item in the budget isn't defense spending-
it's interest on the debt . that helps. but not much because voters are like Congress critters too "sorry about the debt but I want mine"

I don't think Congress or the eelctrate can change until it becomes a crisis -like which entitlements must be cut. and that's not far off
and it's gonna hurt

Yeah, my wife and I were exposed to the 'Don't count on SS' (and the like retiree programs) so we've lived within our means, and have salted away a goodly sum. I hope it's enough.

But, the system is designed to keep the same people in office. And many of us don't realize how the legal bribe system does that.
Everyone likes the people they vote for, but not the other person's person.

It wasn't booming. Most of the world was shut down.
Getting free money, with no where to spend it but on essentials and stock piling the rest.

And then, boom, the world opened up, goods had declined from the shutdowns. So, now there's a glut of money and a lack of products.
That wasn't good.

Fossil fuel use declined do to no one going anywhere. In 2022, he prices skyrocketed because now people were travelling with all that extra money and low supply of fossil fuels.

I thought the new president with a R congress was going to reduce deficit spending.
That's why they were voted in.
But now, they are increasing deficit spending based on non partisan calculations of the House passed budget. That is what trump wants.

COLA was around 9% in 2022. One of the largest SS increases in history.

Wages are not tied to COLA. At least for many pvt companies.
