This was pretty darn stupid on the cops’ part. Poor car passengers!

Officers with the DeKalb, Texas Police Department pulled over a paraplegic man and his fully blind best friend over a broken tag light on their country Cadillac. One of the officers claimed to smell marijuana and ordered both men out of the car (the search of which did not subsequently produce marijuana) - at night, on the side of a highway. One of the men couldn't see a thing, and the other had no use of legs and had no wheelchair. It went about how you might expect...

Happened in Texas, not surprised.

Ah so if you’re handicapped you don’t need to follow the rules of the road?

Texas Dept of Public Safety demanded by wife exit the vehicle back during a 2006 traffic stop (back when she still drove) and she asked to move the vehicle to where there was no guardrail because she can only exit from the right side wheelchair door where the ramp is located.
They refused, demanding she exit out the driver's side door.
This went on for almost fifteen minutes.
