A Texas police officer has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation after video surfaced showing one cop pulling a gun on a crowd of teens at a pool party while others handcuffed teenage partygoers.
Police on Friday evening were called to the Craig Ranch North Community Pool in McKinney, roughly 40 miles north of Dallas. McKinney police said in a statement they were responding to a disturbance "involving multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave," and that some of them were fighting.
Cop Suspended After Video Emerges Of Brutal Arrests At Teen Pool Party
What we see is the lack of professional self control resulting in escalation instead of deescalation of events. Us policing is in really bad shape. Yes, that is so powerful, taking down a bikini-wearing girl. No doubt. BTW, did anyone notice the couple of guys roaming around in the video did nothing to help the kids or calm the policeman down?
IN the video I watched, the girl that is eventually arrested is in a group of people. The officer tells them to leave. They stay and the cop goes off to deal with others. About 90 seconds later, he returns to the group and tells them to leave again. One of the group starts mouthing off to him, but the girl leaves with others and then the entire groups starts to leave
After the group is some distance away, the girl turns around and yells something at the officer and then turns back around again to continue leaving the area. That's when the cop goes after her and takes her down.
IOW, the cop didn't go after her because she wasn't leaving; He went after her because he didn't like what she said.
A bunch of party crashers go on a rampage and people are making **** about a cop dealing with a belligerent youth.
The cop's White and the aggressor is Black? Well...that explains that! When's the looting and screams of "Black Lives Matter" going to start?
Generally speaking you want to take out the instigators as you go because that usually helps maintain control. The chick was being mouthy and while I couldn't hear exactly what she was saying it probably sounded to him like she was egging the situation on. Her behavior damned sure seemed to indicate that was the case.
There's just simply no excuse for how this police officer responded to a call about a pool party.“I think a bunch of white parents were angry that a bunch of black kids who don't live in the neighborhood were in the pool," said Brooks, who is white. “Everyone who was getting put on the ground was black, Mexican, Arabic. [The cop] didn't even look at me. It was kind of like I was invisible."

It's why cops are so opposed to body cameras. They know they're liars. There's really no telling the amount of police misconduct that has washed under the bridge in the course of time, but the people have a weapon now!

Watched the Video, cop did nothing wrong.
Whatever happened to talking to people first? Talking to the teens first before trying to round them up probably would've been better for all involved.
Apparently, it started with two adult white women using racial slurs against some of the black teens because they didn't like so many blacks in the swimming pool. But if the pool was reserved for a teen pool party, then why they there?

I think we already knew your position on that before you stated it.
Right back at you.
I watched the video AND listened to the residents accounts of what happened prior to the Police being called out
I think most Domestic Disturbance calls look like this.
They can often be the most dangerous for the officer.
If they filmed every single call that cops went on I'm sure there would be plenty for Democrats (and radical leftists in the White House) to complain about.
BTW, when did the White House become so anti-law enforcement?
When Barack Obama was elected.
