5 years ago Obama ran in Illinois on a platform to decriminalize marijuana for all the right reasons, now he laughs in the American peoples face when it is the most asked question towards him.

:doh

It's not an election winner. That's all that matters.

It shouldn't have to be that way, it is obvious if it is the most asked question that the president should at least give the American people the brass to answer the question without a smile.

I just want to hear someone openly defend the president on this, man this busts my balls.

It's not going to happen until our generation enters the political arena and the Drug Warriors have died off. It's unfortunate but that's the way it is.

That reminds me of a talk Tommy Chong was having with a reporter talking about how he thought it was going to be his generation got in Washington things would change.

I would suggest don't hold your breath, waiting on the next generation to do something is useless and quite frankly the wrong way to go about this sort of thing.

Well, frankly, I don't know anybody in my generation who supports the War on Drugs and especially the prohibition of cannabis. There are a few teetotalers in the so-called "straight edge" movement, but they're overwhelmingly in the minority. There is no logical argument for keeping cannabis illegal. Other drugs, maybe.

Which generation is "ours"?
Seems to me that if the Boomers won't do it...

Same thing could be said for Tommy Chongs generation, don't hold your breath, people change their minds overtime.

I think he is refering to generation X, which is a contradiction within itself, because those are who voted for Obama in the first place.

No, that was the "entitlement generation."

When you speak of generations you speak in chronological order, people born post WWII baby boomers are in the generation X category which we are in now. Obama is the first president since Kennedy to not been voted in my Baby boomer primarily.
