The challenge was that liberals were doing nothing. I responded with what I did in El Paso together with other liberal type volunteers. Of course there were others. The Salvation Army brought cots. Local churches chipped in with special meals. GIs from a nearby military base worked there in their free time.Blah blah blah........you can say anything you want on the internet.
