Conservatives Now Outnumber Liberals in All 50 States, Says Gallup Poll

Utah is the most Republican state in the union....

What use was it to him when he lost the other 39 states in the country? The fact is that Mitt Romney is a mormon and for the most part the other Republicans running in 2012 would have to be so horrible that there would be no other viable choice. Mitt Romney isn't a blue collar worker. He's the son of a rich man. He isn't an Evangelical. He's a mormon. He's not from the military. These are all traits that the Republican base looks for. He has none of them. So what does Mitt have? His church and a few liberals in the East Coast and Midwest.

But it is only one state.

And the Evangelical Religious Right is only one faction of the Republican Party. It is not even the only religious faction- Mormons are a good example of another one. Honestly, if they can nominate John McCain, who called Pat Robertson an agent of hate and earned constant criticism from Limbargh, they can nominate a Mormon.

And yet I doubt Colin Powell could get the nomination either. Which is weird, since I could not see him losing a general election.

We'll see come election time; that's all that matters. I don't see how people can get mad at Obama though because his policies are as radical as they were when he first said them in his campaign; you can't get mad at the man if you voted for him and he's doing what he said he would do...

The Evangelical's are a powerful arm of the party. I cannot see them accepting a Mormon. He will almost certainly run in 2012, so we will find out then.

Probably not, but he had a fighting chance- and I base that statement on the fact that the head of the RNC is now black- until his endorsement of Obama.

It's mostly because Colin Powell isn't made for politics. He's a soldier.

I just hope he isn't the only choice we've got. I'm not evangelical but I still would only vote for him in the primaries if he's the lesser of all evils- he changes his positions too much for my liking. I'd still take him over Obama though.

Which is probably the best part about him. I think we could use a few presidents who where not politicians.

Who else is there really? Huckabee will run, and lose. Palin will run, and god knows what will happen, but she can't win in a general election. Tim Pawlenty probably has a better chance than any of the others named, but does not have the name recognition yet for a general run(course, same was true of Obama, so who knows). Steele? Don't make me laugh. Newt? Possible, but he will probably ait till 2016 unless Obama looks really weak.

I say 16 % of liberals plus 5% of very liberals, considering their positions in schools, colleges and media, make conservatism to be a lost case in any society.

If you add 35% of moderates - which is just another name for liberals and very liberals, - you would have 35+16+5=56% = a totally liberal society.

They picked McCain over Huckabee.

They picked McCain over Huckabee.

Not that I would ever be the type to gloat or anything, but...how did that work out for republicans?

They picked McCain over Huckabee.

Because Huckabee scared people by telling them he wanted to bring the Constitution up to God's standards. Not even Evangelicals want that ****.

I was almost one of those Conservatives that either stayed home or voted for someone else.McCain pissed me off too many times but in the end I voted for him as an anti Obama vote.

I did not vote for president, there were no canidates. Not even the libertarians... They all sucked.

My vote for McCain was not an anti-Obama vote. It was an anti-Pelosi vote. I believe that she is actually the more dangerous of the two.

You want to see dull, go to a party full of Liberals. :rofl

what do you mean :rofl?
no, no, no you don't get to use :rofl for that.

man, please...

and, for the record, liberals are much more entertaining than conservatives. it's just a fact of life. you won, we lost, yay for you. but you ain't taking credit for fun, too.

It's a constant pendulous swing. Very few people in America actually have a strong party loyalty. Folks tend to just aim their content or malcontent at whoever is in office. Apparently, right now, folks are a bit pissy.

There is some truth in what is bolded above. Liberals are much more inclined to say really stupid things which in itself can be quite entertaining.

One of my favorites is when a Liberal sees someone of color and asks them what part of Africa they come from; the response is generally a stunned, "why right here in America."

:rofl

ummm, ok :doh
obviously, this is gonna go nowhere
has a good day :2wave:
