And she sounds and looks like a buck toothed mouse. Wouldn't be taken seriously by many world leaders.
Smear campaign in case Rice wants to run for office.
That's a good point - No matter how many times she says she's happy at Stanford, the left is still terrified she might seek high office.
another black and white admitted instance where government prevented a story from being run through pressure. id say its pretty relevant...

I am taking a Media Law class this semester and my professor used to work for CBS and she says government chilling news stories is way more common then people think.
Condoleezza Rice is considered one of the top experts on Russia and the former Soviet Union.
Putin knows exactly who Rice is. It was Rice who coached G.W. Bush on how to deal with Russia and Putin.
Putin holds Rice in awe. He fears her but highly respects her.
Perhaps. There's probably a lot of information that I am sure the government would rather keep to themselves -- sensitive or not. But I doubt it typically goes as high as the Secretary of State -- especially making a personal trip.
I am sure Rice is competent and knowledgable when it comes to Russia, but to say the racist, misogynistic and homophobic Putin is in awe is laughable at best.
I don't know how good she would be, but she has a great intellect and is an expert on foreign policy. She does lack experience on domestic issues, and has no executive experience.

I still don't know what the point is - it's not like other administration haven't cited national security issues with a media outlet. :shrug:the first paragraph pretty much sums it up

It's interesting and shows how the Bush admin clicked or any other admin when they don't want a story publicized. Nothing wrong with looking into the past to glean something interesting.
Got a problem with the history of past admins?

If the story actually did endanger national security
everything has become a national security issue.
At the time this incident reportedly occurred, Ms. Rice was not Secretary of State. She was National Security Adviser.
Condoleezza Rice named as killer of New York Times' story on CIA - Washington Times!
Yes, thank you for the correction. But still, my point stands... she was pretty high up to make a personal call.
Another question comes to mind... how did they know about the story? They weren't spying, were they? :2razz:
I don't know for sure about this particular incident. I do know from reading past memoirs that there have been cases where newspapers have informed the government as a courtesy that they were planning to run various national security-related stories.
