Communism is a variant of socialism that involves the abolition of money, markets, and the state beyond socialism's establishment of the collective ownership and control of the means of production. The involuntary confiscation of possessive property (as opposed to private property, which primarily includes productive resources), has never been a facet of that ideology, so your reference to it is inaccurate.

What kind of twisted thinking are Teachers trying with our kids? "Teaching" them it's "OK" to Steal? :x
Communism In Our Schools | NewsBusters.org
Tonight I had chance to listen to Bruce DuMont's radio show and heard the story of how teachers in one school confiscate all the children's school supplies (and in this case even lunch boxes), put them in a pile, and everyone takes turns coming up and taking what they want, whether the parents like it or not. A guest on the show, Erika Brees, Heartland Regional Director for College Democrats of America, defended this action saying that "it's an important lesson that people learn to do with less so others can have what they need too, and if the parents aren't willing to teach that, I think it's good that the school does." [I paraphrase]
This is nothing more than an introduction to communism. I was shocked. I thought there's no way that this redistribution of personal property really goes on in American school rooms. After a few searches and several calls to teacher friends, I've found this to be more common than I ever would have thought, and of course there is not one media story on the subject to be found.
It's one thing to buy extra supplies so the classroom has the tools it needs to conduct class. It's quite another to steal property from one person... and give it to another.
While this may have happened at a couple of schools (of which I don't agree) I call Bull**** that it is a common occurrence.
I have not encountered any school that has done something like this without the expressed consent of the parents.
You cannot tell me that a parent that spends say $25 on a lunch pail for their kid is going to be required to place it in a pile and then have their own kid wind up with a $5 lunch pail instead.
If you notice,,,I high-lighted the part that covers your last Statement.

I doubt highly that teachers would confiscate lunch boxes considering certain kids have food allergies.
Your under the impression the Teachers, that'd "follow" this Socialist Style "Lesson Plan in "Redistribution",,, (Theft), had thought it thru.
Take care.
And keep in mind,,,this silly Twit the Dems "provide" as Cover.

What school? Where? What were the EXACT circumstances? These are things that have not been answered and since your link has suddenly "Disappeared" and is not available none of these questions can be answered.
Basically it has the credibility of a blog entry right now.
I did some tracking too. Nothing...I COULD claim a "Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy" is involved, but No. That'd put me in the same "boat" with the Liberals.
I'll keep checking. Take care.
All public schools need to be privatized, and parents need to be given complete control over their children's education. Having a separation between education and state is even more important in a modern society than the separation between church and state!
All forms of forced collectivism are indistinguishable from each-other.
IIRC, the only evidence that it did happen is the radio show host's friend said he had a friend who heard it happened. There was no detailed info as to school or names provided. So there's not really anyway to verify it at all.Right,,,In your mind, it NEVER HAPPENED.
I have no problem buying a bunch of supplies that everyone can share. Truth be told, I'd rather just write a check. However there I things I buy specifically for him, and it's up to him to decide whether or not to share.
I'm not being critical of you but I find odd in the least that so many have accepted that, even though our schools are well funded, people still have to donate supplies because the district can't afford it on their own.
Districts have, from what I've seen, become bureaucratic monsters where "administration" eats up far too much of the budget.
Return control of schools to local districts, and most especially to the taxpayers and parents of those districts!
Can you name a single industrialized nation where all schools are privatized? Japan maybe? No? What about Sweden? No? Oh you can't? Because this 'modern society' you speak of isn't realistic? Thanks for playing.
