Well folks there seems to be a lot of stupid people in this world and frankly the if any thing dwarwin was correct in "survival of the fittest" or in this case survival of the smart people.

So here are some basic things that all people need to know and should know about dealing with the police that continue to either remain stupid or ignorant.

The police cannot stop you because they want to. Teri v Ohio and other SCOTUS rulings have confirmed this. Cops must have reasonable articulate suspicion of a crime.
THis means if a cop wants to detain you they must be able to articulate why. Please check your local state laws regarding if you live in a stop and ID state most people do not but
there are a few of them.

So unless they can articulate something beyond (suspicion) (suspicion is not a crime people) then they have 0 right to detain you.

If by chance they do have a reasonable suspicion then please follow the guide below.

1. YOu have a right to not answer their questions.
2. You do not have a right to resist or run away.
3. If the cops are there for an actual investigation or because you were pulled over in a traffic stop. simply give them what they want and go on your way.

This business of not listening to lawful orders
resisting arrest fighting with cops will either
land you up in jail, shot, tasered, or killed.

You’re kidding right? Harris was a frigging prosecutor, DA and the California AG for chrissake. One of the knocks on her was that she put too many black people in jail.

No intelligent person would be disrespectful to someone who has a gun. No matter how pissed off you are at being stopped, be polite.

If it's a minor traffic violation they might even let you off if you're nice.

In theory. Reality works differently. Police are given enormous latitude to decide what constitutes reasonable suspicion.

Simple example. You swerve to avoid a pothole and the officer stops you. He claims a reasonable suspicion that you are DUI because you drove erratically.

That btw the happened to me. My response to the cop when he told me why he pulled me over was a incredulous stare and the statement “I was avoiding the pothole that you apparently hit.”

So in truth Terry isn’t much of a shield as long as judges by default take the cops word.

Cops can call it anything they want. I have been pulled over on an INVENTED LAW.
If you refuse to answer the cops, they WILL use that to persecute you.
If you refuse to allow them to search your home or vehicle, they will use that to persecute you.
The reason you dont have an inkling what it is like to be LIVING WHILE not white, it is because you are white DUH.

If you refuse to allow them to search your home or vehicle, they will use that to persecute you.

While the cops can decide to go ahead and search you, your home or your car without your permission the fact that you objected and didn’t give them permission MAY offer some protection if they find anything. So it pays to never agree to a search.
