For those who fondly remember The Karate Kid movies, there are some old familiar faces back in town, breathing life into a new series:

That looks.....

AWESOME!!!

I have to admit, that looks like a fun movie.

Heheh, these guys need to do some actual auto commercials - like for Toyota, Honda, or somebody

"And first 100 customers get a free wax job from Daniel-san!"

Here's the first episode on Youtube:

Even if the series sucks, and it looks like it'll be at least entertaining, it introduced me to Airbourne which is a ****ing awesome band.

And here's Episode 2:

Cobra Kai is a Hit!

Season 2 has already been approved for production - as announced by Sensei John Kreese himself!

Why was John Kreese the way he was? In the interview above, Martin Kove tells us that because Kreese had been sent abroad to fight a war he couldn't win, he became determined to ensure his students wouldn't lose. Is this something that might be explored in next season? We've already seen how Cobra Kai's existing characters have a duality to them, being neither totally angelic nor totally evil. It feels like this series is taking us on a deeper dive into human nature.

Is there any way we could get the rest of the episodes posted? As somebody who spent a lot of years doing karate when I was younger, I’ve always enjoyed watching the movies, and the first two episodes look very good.

If you're in the US or one of the countries listed below, you can subscribe to Youtube Red and watch all the episodes. Youtube Red allows you to sign up for their 30-day free trial, and then you can watch all 10 episodes (Season 1) for free. It's up to you whether you decide to cancel the subscription before the free trial period is up, but after the free trial is over, the cost is $10/month. (A lot of people have signed up just to watch the series, and then canceled afterwards - so effectively free of cost.)

The rest of the series is really good. It's getting rave reviews everywhere, including on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB.

Season 2 in 2019

I watched the whole first season. Good show.

After 30 years, people aren't what they were back in the day. Danny is kind of a jerk. Johnny has had a hard life...kind of stuck in the past. They both have problems with their kids. And, of course, they still don't like each other.

The end of the season has an awesome twist to the way the original movie ended.

I can't wait to see the next season with Sensei John Kreese.

I liked all the new characters too - some really great moments between cast members old and new - makes you really want to know what's going to happen to them.

Pop culture is cool but discussions about the coming midterm election is cooler lmao :2wave:
