(CNN) Senate Democrats block first-of-its-kind bill regulating cryptocurrency amid concerns over Trump’s crypto dealings
--
Senate Republicans were largely united in their support for the legislation, and even received a visit from David Sacks, the White House’s czar on AI and cryptocurrency, on Wednesday to educate senators on stablecoin.
Some Democratic senators argued that Trump’s cryptocurrency dealings only increase the urgency for regulatory legislation — and the need to get it right.
The final tally was 49-48, with GOP Sens. Rand Paul and Josh Hawley joining Democrats to vote against advancing the bill.
--

It appears the Dems have indeed held pat, as they earlier threatened, forcing Donald Trump to a legislative loss.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised every Republican Senator, save for Rand Paul and Josh Hawley, voted in support of Trump.

Beyond that, this rush into mainstreaming crypto just doesn't feel right. I get gold more than I get crypto, and to be honest, they're not that dissimilar. But I understand gold mining and supply, and the energy requirements to mine gold are fairly predictable, stable.

How many billions has he and his family made from his rich cronies since he was elected? How much have they made?

Later dude! Crypto can be regulated later, I guess.

And gold is a "solid" currency option. Crapto is just a stupid play-thing. It's like money in a video game...no RL value.

I'm pretty blown away by how acceptable Trump's corruption is for people.
