And...

Paul Krugman on Trump's teetering economy...

"The thing that’s extra damaging now is the craziness. Nobody knows what the tariff rates will be in six months. That means a lot of cash sits on the sidelines."

Here ya go. It's about time...

Walmart is getting hit by Trump's tariffs

Tariffs are giving parents back-to-school sticker shock

Hundreds of items just got a lot more expensive to import into the US because of Trump’s tariffs

Wait. Didn't Trump tell us he knew more about the Economy than anybody? In fact, aren't we assured that Trump just knows everything better than anyone else? Ever? In the History of this Nation?

He's just a massive liar.

Supported by people with no morals.

Stop calling them tariffs.

Morons don't make the connection.

Instead, call them what they are: "Import Taxes."

Well he knows how to fool gullible xenophobes.

The only ones who refuse to admit it, and will never admit it, is of course cult45/47.

New Import Taxes.

Higher prices for everything.

Gee. Thanks, Donald.

Sure is good to see the federal debt being finally reduced, though. What? Wait a minute. The federal debt is not being reduced as a result of all this Trumpflation?

I don't get it.

What's the point?

We lost all kinds of government services. We are paying more for everything. And still the federal debt is rising?

What's in all this pain for us?

What's the good part?

Trump is just playing 9D golf. Prices rising under Trump is a good thing because Trump made them go up. It always good when Trump does it.

As MAGA launches their anti-capitalism planning and tries to claw us backwards to mercantilism, we're bound to see these negative impacts on our economy and on the prosperity of the people in general.

The informed consumer can differentiate between wants and needs. They will simply quit buying if the price is too high, thus lowering demand and prices for everyone. It's a self-correcting problem. The real problem is that not everyone is an knowledge informed consumer. And when those people have too much money they just buy like crazy regardless of the price. Use the pandemic as a example. Biden provided massive stimulus straight to the middle and lower class regardless of need. The resulting inflation took years to get under control. Trump's tariffs is complete different animal. It's a one-time thing and consumer can easily deal with small price increases by doing without, switching to domestic brands or substituting to something else. It's already happening. If you use the stock market as a gauge, I don't think people are really worried.

I think you may not be aware of what specifically is being tariffed and whether or not there is an American substitute. For example, kids need sneakers, shoes, clothes and school supplies. None of those things are manufactured in the States at reasonable, affordable prices. Same goes for fruits and vegetables...you can't meet your internal needs simply because you have such a large population. Anyhow, you may be able to avoid tariffs but there are one hell of a lot of low income Americans who are hurting and are bound to hurt more.

Trump's approval on tariffs is in the tank even including a growing number of Republicans.

Enough of this cheap Chinese goods. There's no doubt that America suffers from over-consumption. Our landfills are overfull, the environment is suffering, and all this 'stuff' doesn't really make people happy and satisfied with their lives anyway. Consumerism not going to stop unless there's impetus and a rationale for doing so. We need to pause so the rest of the world can to catch up to our style of (over) consumerism. People laugh at Trump's 2 dolls vs 10 dolls comment, but there's a lot of truth to it. The real key is to make this (slowly) happen without sinking the economy.

So in the meantime kids can go without shoes, clothes and school supplies as well as fresh fruits and veggies. Whay=t you dont seem to understand is the US does not have the capacity to manufacture and grow enough to be self sufficient. 300 plus M people need a lot of stuff...not want, need.

Americans experiencing price pain because of tariffs is "worth it" according to Nutlick.

Well said. I'd also like to add that the American consumer - in paying more for goods - is in fact, helping address the national debt. There was never going to be a way to hammer down the national debt painlessly, and we might as well face it
