Actually there is an effort that some states have signed onto in which they pledge to cast their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote. That is an alternative to an amendment process. But perhaps they are ignorant also.

Insulting me does not change the fundamental unfairness of a system where some voters have three times the weight and power behind their vote than others do. This is violation of the sacred principle of one person/one vote with no citizen having any more power than any other.

The math is what the math is and the math tells us that the EC is fundamentally unfair as it violates the one person/one vote principle awarding three times the power behind some votes as punishes people for exercising their freedom to live where they want to live.

The EC is a mechanism. There is nothing sacred about it. Just as Donald Trump and he will tell you so.

If you are so utterly disgusted with a system that has obviously produced untold wealth and a great life compared to most of the world for the vast majority, you should seriously consider moving to a place that suits you better.

yes it is and having the popular vote determine the winner of the Presidency does not change that fact - it is still a republican form of government.

Your screed makes no sense. Giving to the EC for 200 years of "untold wealth and a great life" is simply ridiculous and without any evidence or proof that such a statement is true.

Actually polls point out that the majority - by big numbers - favor scrapping the EC in favor of a straight popular vote.
