Close Clinton advisors Neera Tanden & Jon Podesta were shocked and dismayed about Clinton's private email server:

One close ally, Center for American Progress leader Neera Tanden, was still fuming months later, pressing now-Campaign Chairman John Podesta on who gave Clinton permission to use the system.

"Do we actually know who told Hillary she could use a private email? And has that person been drawn and quartered?" Tanden wrote in July. “Like whole thing is f---ing insane.”

The tenor of the emails belies the assuring tone Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, and her campaign took as they publicly downplayed the controversy in the months after it broke. The emails showing Hillaryland’s initial reaction to the news were discovered in a batch of more than 33,000 hacked from Podesta’s account and subsequently posted to anti-secrecy site WikiLeaks.

While some of Clinton’s closest aides, particularly those who worked with her at the State Department, such as Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, appeared to be well aware and deeply involved in her email setup, others apparently were not.

On March 2, Podesta wrote to current Campaign Manager Robby Mook asking if Mook had “any idea of the depth of this story?”

"Nope. We brought up the existence of emails in research this summer but were told that everything was taken care of," Mook wrote back at 1:32 a.m. on March 3.

Podesta also wrote to Tanden airing his concerns on March 2, the day the story about Clinton’s private email account broke.

“Speaking of transparency, our friends [attorney David] Kendall, Cheryl and Phillipe [Reines] sure weren’t forthcoming on the facts here,” Podesta wrote.

Tanden replied, implying that keeping the email setup a secret was likely Mills’ doing.

“This is a Cheryl special,” Tanden wrote. “Know you love her, but this stuff is like her Achilles heel. Or kryptonite. She just can’t say no to this s---. Why didn’t they get this stuff out like 18 months ago? So crazy.”

Tanden added: “I guess I know the answer they wanted to get away with it.”

It does seem that Podesta and Mook wanted transparency...but Mills and Kendall didn't. If the people Clinton listens to aren't telling her the truth, or advising her unwisely and causing more problems than is necessary....then she should let them go. Mills is becoming more of a liability than an asset.

It does seem that Podesta and Mook wanted transparency...but Mills and Kendall didn't. Perhaps its time for Clinton to let Cheyrl Mills go. If the people Clinton listens to aren't telling her the truth, or advising her unwisely and causing more problems than is necessary....then she should let them (her) go.

The Clintons have long carefully curated which people are around them, if you want to know who they are look at the people they picked.

I think what we have here inside the Hillary campaign is the new guard, Podesta and Mook, that want more transparency and to confront the allegations ASAP....versus....the old guard, Mills and Kendall who are secretive and allow molehills to grow into mountains. I have been hostile towards of SCOTUS ever since they allowed routine workplace drug testing and the government to confiscate without any form of due process anything that the state decides is drug trade related during the early 80's, but Citizens United makes my top five list of proofs that the court needs massive reform.

Unfortunately, it's usually too late by the time we do.

My wife had the TV on during a time of a tornado, last spring maybe, and there was this interview with a woman in front of her destroyed home, and she was saying that everything she had was gone now, and near the end she starts talking about some vague " well I guess I am going to...." re rebuilding. At this point the "reporter" said " How are you going to go on after this total devastation?" ........the woman turns slowly all serious eyes wide emotion building looks the reporter in the eye and says "What the hell else am I supposed to do?". Reporter stares silently.

Regardless of how bad things are or get those who dont curl up and die get busy doing what they can.
