So at least Cleveland won't be having the riots. (crossing fingers).
Point still remains.
Oh, I bet they will be having them.
"Rioters" are those who see no other way to be heard but to show violence.
What we saw in Baltimore and Ferguson was not riots, it was extremistic actions against their own government.
With $ 9mil. threat they're doing it with their own hands and really believe it will help. With millions spent on the help to the poor it makes no sense for those who rule the crowd.
Cleveland deal along with all the deals that are widely broadcasted will always have "Rasist" mark on them to scoop the pool.
They were the reason why I stopped sympathizing the poor.
We can only hope that the poor and disenfranchised don't destroy their own neighborhoods and businesses. It only hurts their own future economic prospects, and I'm really rather surprised that they don't realize that. That being said, as we've seen in Ferguson, it's not the locals that are burning down their own future prospects, it's imported extremists and trouble makers.
Protesting in orderly groups would be a way to be heard, would it not?
No, it was rioting, violence and arson, which was allowed to happen by lack of LEO enforcement and National Guard deployment.
The idea that destroying your own neighborhood and neighborhood businesses is going to help matters any is just plain wrong and stupid.
Lame reply as well as assertion.
It wasn't just an Officer who heard what was believed to be a gun shot. Two detectives and a guard heard it from inside a building as well.
What they find out after the fact does not matter one bit to what was reasonably believed at the time.
Just showing that all you spew is bs "blah" worth less than a grain of salt.
Correction....
Actually, getting shot a few dozen times is what killed them. People run from cops all the time and don't die.
Just say'in
I wonder how many cars were in the specific area at that time? Large city, could have been quite a few, so how did they ID that specific car??
From the previously linked decision.
Meanwhile, less than two miles away, Cleveland policemen Vasile Nan and Alan Almeida were standing on the sidewalk on St. Clair just across from the police headquarters in the Justice Center? The two were next to Nan's police car discussing computer equipment Nan was leaving with Almeida to repair when Russell's Malibu zoomed by and a sound like a gunshot rang out.
Nan and Almeida both thought they had been shot at. Nan jumped into his car, made a U-turn, and began to pursue the Malibu. He immediately broadcast over police radio channel two that somebody in an "old Chevy" had "popped a round as he went by" the Justice Center. It was 10:33.21.
About a minute later Van expanded on his initial call, broadcasting over channel two:
Car should be on Prospect eastbound. Two black males. Shots tired. I was conferring with mobile support and he popped a round right as he drove by us.
Point still remains.
Thank you
You might want to know that cops jump on the hoods of stopped chase cars quite a bit. It's so that they can see the hands of the suspects.
Uh, no: they ran and that is what - got them killed... And you're right, many people run and don't get killed. I covered that already by saying that when you run your chances of being injured - or killed- go up to 100%.
No.The shots heard later were from officers firing during the chase, then others got confused as to shots fired at Officers which was not the case.
No.And jumping on the hood, only Clint does that.
Read the previously linked to decision. From what I see they had the car stopped. Was the area not secured with all those Officers & vehicles present?
I was wondering how they determined it was that specific vehicle.

The problem is, not running doesn't mean that you won't be killed unjustifiably or at the very least being mistreated and disrespected. Perhaps if people were always treated with dignity and respect by police rather than police mistreating people in the name of their self protection, fewer people would run.... Just say'in
In cases like that, officers swarm the suspect car because they don't know what's going to happen and if there are guns involved, which n this case they thought there were, there will be a lot of shouting and bolstering in order to try and overwhelm the suspects into surrendering, up to and including jumping on hoods (I know a guy that did that once: it was stolen car that was running) and they may start shooting. The whole thing sucks the wazoo, especially for the cops, because they see their lives flashing before their eyes every time crap like this happens.
Look, the cops are just people, trained and skilled to perform their jobs to best of their abilities, and I think that folks like you might want to remember what General Robert E. Lee said in the movie Gettysburg: paraphrasing; 'the best and most expertly designed and cautious military plans for battle fall to nothing after the first shot is fired'. And that's what happens to cops: how is it their fault really? There are of course blatant examples of stupidity as in S. Carolina, but cops would much rather be at the doughnut shop (trust me) than chasing after a stupid person who is running from a stop.
I have a number of friends that are retired Police officers. We do not get a lot of cases like this up here.
Yes, there is that. However, 99.9% of people that run, have either committed a crime or have contraband on their cars, or are on parole or some other reason that makes them decide to run which freaks out the cops. Even if a cop is racist, he or she may make a bust, but if the person just sits still, his chances are much better with the courts. Running makes even racist cops look like THEY are defending themselves...
Anyone that runs is VC, anyone that stands till is well disciplined VC!
Greetings, Erik. :2wave:
Cleveland is about a 45-minute drive from where I live, but I have not heard one word about any mass demonstrations or riots - so far! *fingers crossed*
Sorry, but that just reminds me of the movie Full Metal Jacket.....
As the helicopter gunner shoots indiscriminately shoots people in a rice patty he says;
At least the city government and LEO has stood up and said 'protest all you want, no violence, no destruction of property, we'll arrest you'.
So at least Cleveland won't be having the riots. (crossing fingers).
We will see what Tuesday brings...Al Sharpton is rolling into town.
Rev. Al Sharpton to be in Cleveland next week
Sounds like a good idea to me.
You are living in the wrong country. Saudi Arabia awaits you.
