Clerk with concealed gun permit shoots 2 robbers at cellphone store

Too easy to get guns.
Should it be hard for law-abiding people to get guns? After all, it's our Constitutional right. Since you arent American, maybe you dont know just how important that is, do you?

We cant stop criminals from stealing cars, jewelry, breaking into bank safes, yada yada yada....so yes, some guns will be stolen by criminals. YOu dont punish the good people because of the criminals.

So then, please tell me...how do we take away the criminals' guns and keep them from stealing from citizens? Please, tell me the solution you see that does not punish law-abiding citizens?

I see you have not yet answered these ^^. Perhaps you can, without resorting to meaningless one-liners?

I'm sorry I cannot make my answers any simpler for you.

... And 'a well ordered country' can change on a dime and that is the main reason we have a Second Amendment which ensures the PEOPLE always have a means to protect themselves from the changes that ANY country can undergo that might remove their freedom.
I think you'll find centuries ago in a time of revolution, the Second Amendment to the new country of the USA was added so that state militias could revolt against a federal government it did not like. It fulfilled its purpose when the racist southern states took up arms against the USA in 1861.

Dead is dead, the method changes nothing. And people dont need personal vehicles.....we have plenty of public transportation and anyone in the US can choose a lifestyle that depends on that.
Unless their young life is cut short while learning to read in school.

No one would care about the law if it is not enforced.

It was common when I was a boy to hear "¡Viva Franco!" but Spain's transition to democracy happened easily and no guns were used.

It would be a welcome change for the Americans to stop starting wars and let the United Nations deal with international disagreements.

Many are not free in the United States because they are dead.

No one is in any doubt about how much Americans love guns.

In a well-ordered country, law abiding citizens do not need guns.

I do not own a car and have no need of one. Because of where I live, I have no need of a gun either.

When a person is killed in a road traffic accident, it is a tragedy but it is the unintentional result our transport system. When children are slaughtered by firearms, the guns worked as intended.

I am not in favor of gun control, it is unconstitutional. Would rather the 2nd Amendment was revised to fit a modern society. Still, we live in an extremely violent country, I don't know what the answer is, I suspect we will just have to get used to the random violence. Short of policing every street 24 hours a day we have no option. We live in a country with a strong gun culture, that is not going to disappear. Face it folks, grab a gun and protect yourself, this is America 2016.

Your idolatry of a centuries old Constitution is part of the problem.

Another adhom comment from a person that doesn't know squat about our country.

Unlike my remark about placing too much respect in a stale Constitution, it is you who has used an ad hominem by accusing me of being ignorant.
I know enough to understand that American people are in a straight jacket by clinging to a centuries old document which was designed to be changed in an era which is nothing like the time it was composed. Witnessing educated people attempting to determine the correct interpretation of the law based on the Constitution for situations that didn’t even exist is a joke.

The constitution has been amended how many times? The founders themselves were living in a fast changing world and understood that society would go through many changes long after they were gone.

Article V alone, ensures that it does not stale.

The amendment option has not always been used intelligently, for example banning beer and then unbanning it! Lordy!
There is a need to make radical changes for it has indeed become stale and imbued with a type of sacrosanct air of holy writ.

Got something better? Let's hear it!

It is atrocious when a person can't even rob a cell phone store without getting shot.

Well, it is rather disconcerting that stealing a small plastic and metal object results in a summary execution nowadays..

The Pro-Life crowd loves to point out how life is precious, but when it comes to money - don't **** with it! Clearly they are more concerned about money than life.

the 2nd amendment should be changed to say what the founders intended without given Bannites any wiggle room

The right of the people, individually and collectively to keep, bear, acquire, own and peacefully use small arms shall not be subject to any interference or restrictions by the federal government

I am pro choice but an unborn fetus is not violating your rights. why should a shopkeeper care about the life of a robber?

Little me?
I would recommend a Constitutional Committee to modernize the Constitution and make proposals for ratification by the People in Referenda.

So a few more densely populated States can get to decide what is good for majority of the states? There are 50 states in the union, and many of them have there own ideas.

For example..................what flies in New York City, may not in North Dakota.

In the act of committing an illegal act the person was a threat. The threat was reason to shoot them, not a phone or money. You ignore the fact that the robbers brought the gun. Did you do that intentionally? If so your post is dishonest. Do you think people should not have the right defend themselves? If so then your post is more honest but less intelligent. My life is more precious than some assclown that tries to pull off a robbery with a gun. Maybe you don't think yours is. You don't have the right to make that decision for someone else. when they made the decision to bring a gun into the situation they made a decision knowing that some people will use deadly force to protect themselves. I call that crappy risk mitigation, maybe even suicide.

Two men drew handguns as they entered a cell phone store, 2051 E. 95th St., in the Calumet Heights neighborhood around 11 a.m., prompting one of the workers at the store to take out his own firearm and shoot them, according to an account from employees given to Neil Tadros, who identified himself as the district manager for T-Mobile.

I like my country because of the freedoms our Constitution gives the citizens. You like Spain because of.... I can't think of any reason to live in Spain so your reasons are your reasons. I am glad you live where you live and I am glad I live where I live. I don't try to tell you how Spain should treat their citizens. If you live in a society that likes to be controlled then that is our right. I don't want a govt that babysits. That is my right. It is funny that you obsess about how people in another country, that you have never been to, want to live.

The USA is one country ... 1 man 1 vote

The USA is one country ... 1 man 1 vote

A country that is made up of 50 states with their own state senates, in which are made up of representatives who speak for the people of their respected districts.

10 million people living in NYC have no right to tell a person 2000 miles away how to go about their lives, business, or leisure.

How come those criminals had guns? That's the problem right there.

Gee whiz! Things getting in to countries illegally, I always thought everything was made in Hollywood.
