It will be interesting to see how President Donald Trump defines US citizenship. His mother was American but his father was born in Germany.

It is an interesting question. Prior to Trump we have never had to deal with the question of citizenship in the US. It's always been understood that if you are physically present in the US then you're a citizen but Trump changed all that...because of his father.

Excuse me, but did you write that correctly. By that logic, any tourist "in" the U.S. becomes a citizen. There must be a tad more involved.

Do we know that his mother was a US citizen?

Have we seen an unadulterated copy of her long form birth certificate?

His father was born in the Bronx. His grandfather was born in Germany, fled to the US to avoid military service and was refused entry when he tried to go back.
For some strange reason Trump lies about where his father was born

Do we know this for certain? Has Donald produced his father's long form birth certificate? For that matter, where is the actual, incontrovertible proof that Donald was born in the United States?

I heard that he was born in Kenya. People are saying that he was born in Kenya, and my people are looking into it and you won't believe what they're finding. Big strong men are coming to me with tears in their eyes saying Sir, you won't believe where Donald Trump was actually born.

I think he goes into this in his book. Maybe Art to the Deal.
His father born in the states, either NY or NJ. Could be a discrepacy in hospitals? Did his grandfather come in illegally, Taht's really the immigration issue with most people. The left likes to ignore that.
