Cities Around Ukraine Rocked as Russia Launches New Wave of Strikes

I like how you lean into psychologizing instead of taking a breath, looking down at your feet, and realizing you have strolled yourself into a rhetorical minefield.

Wtf are you talking about?

I was understanding, direct and factual.

Do you have a MSM link/poll?
But yeah, Americans are overall as dumb as farm animals. Not so much stupid. More unaware, uneducated on the subject they are polled on.
It must be rough, being the only conscious person in a world of "farm animals."

That will change.

American voters will move on to the next shiny object.

Ukraine is in the news cycle right now. It won't last.

Boy, you two really have nothing but contempt for your country, don't you?

Perhaps you should consider moving somewhere else?

The benefit is has is it's a story that resonates with Americans: underdog fighting against a well armed bully. What's different with this story compared to Vietnam or Iraq is we are not losing any American lives in the process.

Most Americans don't give a crap about Ukraine. They care about paying their rent, buying groceries, and getting to work.

America needs to support a peace process. not led by the UN (Turkey might work). instead of US escalation that has now expanded the war - getting closer to nukes.
Get the Europeans off from sitting on their wallets, and involved with designing talks That's the only war this war of attrition ends

I have a feeling cooler heads are beginning to agitate behind the scenes, some in public. Statements by Macron and Scholz lately suggests those two, and maybe more are beginning to rethink the whole madness.

I found it interesting that in statements Macron talked of security guarantees to Russia after everything is over. But is that not what Putin demanded before February?

The thread title is wrong.

It should be "....as Russia launches new wave of terrorist attacks"

Are attacks not by definition terrorist?

Im talking about a peace process, The UN is far too biased and unwieldy, the USA cant do it - too involved
Europe is in the region and could do it. .If not actually do it at least support it
But they never do much of anything ( they did take refugeess and send some weapons - but the USA does most of weapons/funding)

Ukraine is getting pulverized, it's infrastructure demolished. Russia is getting hit inside it's territory.
Nobody wants to blink first. The way out is talks. talks lead to negotiations. no talks = no negotiations.

Have you heard Biden ( or the Republican establishment ) even mention talks?
All Congress /Biden does is send Zelensky blank checks..the dying and misery never stops
It's got to stop -agreed? so talk already . there is nothing to lose and everything to gain

The "peace process" isn't going to begin with bombing civilians until they submit.

It's not usually a good way to get a country to submit anyway when attacks on legitimate military targets fail.

There will be peace when Russia withdraws its troops from Ukraine and not before.

That is not the only possibility. There will be peace if Russian assault groups reach Lviv.

110,000 dead Russians in less than a year. You would think the Russian people would not stand for that.

Stop short changing Ukrainians. Our valiant Ukrainians have smoked 200,000 Russians :)

Peace doesn't end war, peace comes when war ends.

As long as there is a Russian troop in Ukraine's territory, there will be a war.

You sound like this is the first time in history Russian troops have been in Ukraine. Tsarist and Soviet troops have been in Ukraine and beyond before. All it takes is a "Peacemaker". The Sam Colt variety.

At the rate they they die for ground currently that will only be 50 million casualties or so.

War is hell, said Sherman. I would imagine that General knew what he was talking about.

5 years from now, Putin will still be president of Russia.

I am not sure if congress will still be eager to issue funding for Ukraine. Even progressive democrats like Pramila Jayapal and her colleagues want some sort of settlement, which would mean concessions towards Russia.
At the rate Russian oligarchs are falling out of windows I doubt it.

War is hell, said Sherman. I would imagine that General knew what he was talking about.

If by hell you mean needless suffering perpetrated for counterproductive reasons then yes.

It's not hard to understand that Russia started the war, therefore Russia should end it.

Prematurely:)?

Anything less would essentially be giving in to a bully, which is what Ukraine did in 2014 and look what it got them. Russia came back to finish what it started because there were no consequences when it annexed Crimea. If Ukraine intends on remaining an independent nation, they cannot let Putin bully his way into annexing yet another part of their nation, much less the whole thing. Basic stuff here.

One of the greatest fictions this year is the suggestion that it is up to Ukraine whether she fights or not. Nato/Eu with its $100billions calls the shots. The day Nato/Eu says finis, Ukraine is gone
