So odd. The article says "Bassett recalled Matthews saying things like "Why haven't I fallen in love with you yet?" and other "gross and inappropriate" comments."

So he gets fired.

And yet Trump publicly calls a woman ugly in a national debate and insults a national war hero, and his supporters get so impressed and giddy with excitement that they elect him to the presidency.

Couldn't think of a better example of how completely different the ethical standards of the two parties is these days. There is no equivalence. It's like saying CNN is as bad as Fox, LOL.

I agree. It looks like he was pushed out because of the zealots in the #MeToo movement. Apparently he complimented some women on their looks and was accused of the big M--misogyny. There was a GQ story that week and he apologized for complimenting women's looks in his farewell remarks.

What I liked about Matthews:

1. He loved politics more than any political party. He just loved politics. He had such a wealth of historical knowledge about politics.
2. He pressed those he interviews for answers to tough questions.

I hear a lot of people complaining that he interrupted his guests. That's because he refused to let guests just avoid answering questions by dancing around the question and eating up all the time. I love him for that.

I'm so sick of interviews where politicians get away with not answering the question.

He will be missed.

When will the #MeToo movement Reign of Terror end? Who is next to be accused?

What sexual things the Matthew's say?

He made a few harmless comments.

And it's not just Matthew's who has been accused. Remember Neil Degrasse Tyson? How about Aziz Ansari? How about Elizabeth Warren accusing Bernie Sanders of making sexist statements?

Going after the Cosby's and Weinsteins of the world is great but then they go after Al Franken.

Again, what did Matthew's say or do that was so bad?

He claimed the only reason Hillary was elected Senator was because her husband abused her.

Of course the "anti #metoo" men support him. He claims abuse is good for women.

Franken did a very stupid thing...on video, no less.

I'm certainly not anti #MeToo. I'm anti- lumping every man into the same category as Harvey Weinstein.

Matthews never said abuse was good for women. Matthews didn't like Hillary and that's really why some on the left hate him.

Matthews didn't like Bernie either. So, the extreme left hated him and now the Hillary left hated him.

The problem we have on the left is using contrived accusations of racism and sexism as a weapon to take down people.

A perfect example is Elizabeth Warren's attempt to accuse Bernie Sanders of being a sexist. Does anyone actually believe that? It failed and I'm sure it backfired because it certainly turned me against her.

Remember that they tried to accuse Biden of sexism because he touched people. They tried to accuse Biden of racism because of his busing position.

This is a problem. And this behavior allows real racists and misogynists like Trump to get a free pass from conservatives who claim that liberals just use these labels as weapons.
