China's Tiangong 1 Space Station Soon to Fall into the Atmosphere.

Probably in April, and in the ocean. Or maybe not. They don't know where they hell it will land, except that it will land.

TIANGONG 1 - NORAD 37820 - 3D Online Satellite Tracking

Next few weeks should be good for observing. I have seen hundreds of sats and rocket bodies flying overhead over the years. Go to Heavens-Above and put in your city (better yet, your GPS coords) and you can get daily predictions of what is observable flying over head. I have seen Tiangong a few times, not really bright, but as it gets closer and starts tumbling, it should be a good view.

This contraption wuz supposed to come down under control in 2013 so when it did not Pentagon Aerospace Command (NORAD) took a closer looksee. Norad found immediately Beijing was trying to manipulate Tiangong to remain in place. Instead, Heavenly Palace is losing 525 feet of altitude per day.

The state owned and operated China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation first denied the station was out of control. Now Beijing says it will land the sucker in the South Pacific where US and Russian errant spacecraft have been guided down to.

Tiangong-1 was originally planned to be decommissioned in 2013 but China has repeatedly extended the length of its mission. The delay of re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere, which China said would happen in late 2017, had led some experts to suggest the space laboratory may be out of control.

Zhu Congpeng, a top engineer at the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, told the state-backed Science and Technology Daily newspaper that the space station was not crashing and did not pose a safety or environmental threat.

“We have been continuously monitoring Tiangong-1 and expect to allow it to fall within the first half of this year,” Zhu told the newspaper. “It will burn up on entering the atmosphere and the remaining wreckage will fall into a designated area of the sea, without endangering the surface,” he said.

CCP Boyz in Beijing banned Reuters from PRC access several years ago because they don't control it and can't control it.

We also have this....

The California-based Aerospace Corporation, a non-profit group that works the U.S. government, said the Tiangong-1’s re-entry was unlikely to be controlled but was highly unlikely to hit people or damage property, according to a post on its website last updated on Jan 3.

“Although not declared officially, it is suspected that control of Tiangong-1 was lost and will not be regained before re-entry,” it said. There may be hazardous material on board that could survive re-entry, it said.

According to the Aerospace Corporation, based on Tiangong-1’s inclination, the lab will reenter somewhere between 43° North and 43° South latitudes. As for leftovers, “it is highly unlikely that debris from this reentry will strike any person or significantly damage any property,” adding: “potentially, there may be a highly toxic and corrosive substance called hydrazine on board the spacecraft that could survive reentry. For your safety, do not touch any debris you may find on the ground nor inhale vapors it may emit.”

Advancing China’s space program is a priority for President Xi Jinping, who has called for China to become a global space power with both advanced civilian space flight and capabilities. Beijing insists that its space program is for peaceful purposes, but the U.S. Defense Department has said China’s program could be aimed at blocking adversaries from using space-based assets during a crisis.

China?s Tiangong-1 Space Lab: Preparations for Uncontrolled Re-entry

It's all part of the CCP Boyz in Beijing and their human space fright program. Their lame lunar rover Jade Rabbit has been immobile several years now sending the identical message each day. Chinese people back on earth are used to that kind of thing anyway. Aerospace Corp said it will advise more precisely in the weeks and days immediately before the Tiangong-1 kiss.
