China blocks UN condemnation of Myanmar coup

They did it because they were rightfully pointing out the misspelling of the country's name. Israel is not spelled M-Y-A-N-M-A-R.

Part of the informal understanding of the United Nations Charter is that the only country that United Nations members are allowed to unequivocally condemn is Israel.

That might be true if the US didn't veto every single criticism of Israel.
