What is Chick Lit?
[ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick_lit]Chick lit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]Chick lit is a term used to denote genre fiction within women's fiction written for and marketed to young women, especially single, working women in their twenties and thirties. The genre sells well, with chick lit titles topping bestseller lists and the creation of imprints devoted entirely to chick lit. It generally deals with the issues of modern women humorously and lightheartedly.[1]
Although usually including romantic elements, women's fiction (including chick lit) is generally not considered a direct subcategory of the romance novel genre, because in women's fiction the heroine's relationship with her family or friends may be just as important as her relationship with the hero.[2]
My wife is addicted. She has a ton of chick lit books. I can collect some of the titles she particularly likes if you want?
I have a question?
How many goddamn books can Nora Roberts write? I swear my house is a Nora Roberts library, and every time my wife goes to a bookstore, she finds yet another Nora Roberts book she hasn't read.
I'd say skip it. I find her boring as all hell and will only read something of hers if I'm a guest in someone else's house and it's all they have around. :dohShe can write as many as her readers can read :nahnah:
But for real, ask your wife which ones are the best. I am new to Nora, I've actually never read one of hers, but she has been recommended by so many I need to check her out.
